I saw that in the practice feed, and was so happy he got up! Looked like a major hit to the head/neck.

I have to wonder how tight the lower pinch bolts were. Maybe they were torqued to rear sprocket specs.?

Saw that during RDL , and man , glad Broc is ok. Like what camp said , he took a hard hit to the head / neck. And snapping a set of any kind of newer fork , has gotta be a pretty hard hit. Damn.

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.

I was thinking the same thing. They had to break when the bike hit the ground but it didn't look that bad. The rider impact is a different story. Hope hes alright

Wasn't there some concern about the Production Showa's breaking on the Suzuki's a couple years back? I know there's some pics of a broken Showa on a Suzuki somewhere out there in Vital land.

I had someone who should know suggest that those are probably about eight years old.

Lucky he isn't paralyzed driving his head and twisting his neck into the top of that whoop.

|

2/12/2018 5:37 PM

did they break and cause the crash or break because of the crash ?

|

Makes you wonder if the triple clamps have a sharp edge and allowed a crack to form. They would be much easier to break then. It looked like stock clamps on it.

This begs the question...are 8 year old kit forks really better than new production ones?

Is stock stuff really that far behind?

Watching the video, those forks never visibly moved one bit after hitting multiple whoops. It looks like they may have been locked up beforehand and caused the crash?

Yes, they looked even stiffer than the forks on a certain other SUZUSKI from a couple of years back.

They do look locked up and solid.

Nah, they're intact up until the forks took a nearly direct sideways hit on the face of a whoop. Snap crackle pop goes the fork leg.

Bet the fork leg snapped on this hit, but I counted three big sideways impacts before he came to a stop:

Actually, probably on this hit:
