I came home from work and 30 minutes later my parents pulled in the driveway with a new YZ250f in the back. Riding up here is about to come to an end, so I won't be riding until the spring. It is still in the crate so I was wondering if it's okay to just keep it that way or should I put it together and break it in? Thanks.

Riding never comes to an end. Get some winter gear and go ride!

it will be ok in the crate without doing anything to it, dealerships leave them in the crate sometimes for years before they sell them , if they are not popular models, its been packed properly from japan to stay good till you pull it out and ride it

what do you mean ridding is almost over?

Thank you for the info. Usually once it hits November, we have to resort to sand pits and I don't really wont to put my new 250f in the sand. I am looking for a practice bike, just not sure what though.

I have the perfect storage solution ... my garage.

Since it's been a while since I've studded some tires for the ice I wouldn't think you'd mind it if I did a thorough break-in on her for you. Cool

By the way... your parents mind adopting middle-aged balding washed-up old mx'ers?

Keep it in your living room until spring. Not sure why this is even a question.

My brother and I are saving up for a trip down south this winter. Which one is the cheapest and/or the best experience? Thanks.

We have done this with past bikes but they don't want to this time... Maybe I should push the issue a little.

We have already had our first snow fall up here. It's not something I'm looking forward to, but I might get a snowmobile to past the time.

You live where it started snowing in October and you are only thinking about getting a sled. You'll be hooked the same as you get with MX,especially if you get some buddies that ride the same and just wanna see who can slam through a washed out trail the fastest.

Buy some skis. I use to hate winter because I could not ride. Now I can't wait until it starts to snow, I am like a little kid again
