How much protection is everyone wearing?

Knee pads/braces? Chest protector? Armored shorts? What’s over doing and what’s undergoing it?

Helmet, boots and knee pads till I had my ACL replaced last year. Now I wear knee braces, funny thing is that once I started riding again, with the braces, I tore my other ACL. Both were torn when my heel dug into the ground with a straight leg. Braces don't help with that.

There is no overdoing it.

That said, I wear knee pads, not braces; a small chest/back only protector, not arms & shoulders; and regular-ol' bike shorts under the pants.

Knee pads and a full chest pro. My atlas brace and mobius wrist braces are currently collecting dust.

I will say though if I had the money I would get another set of allsport dynamics wrist braces. Liked just having the hinge and bottom out bumper system. I never noticed them while riding. They are kind of a pita since you have to modify your gloves to go with them.

Good boots, knee pads, alpinestars a-1 chest pro if it’s rocky, good helmet.

In the immortal words of Ryno, “just don’t crash bro”

Besides the usual I always wear padded/protection shorts ever since bruising my tailbone. Never ride without them..

Jersey, Pant, gloves, mobius knee braces, Tech10's, carbon helmet, ear plugs when riding my gas bikes.

If racing or if the practice track is busy I'll toss a chess protector on underneath my jersey because noone likes getting paintball-like welts on their chest.

Boots, helmet, gloves, goggles, knee/shin guards, and if it’s rocky a Troy Lee Designs under the Jersey chest/back protector with elbow and shoulder protection.

Level 1 or 2 impact for chest/back, knee pads, helmet, gloves, and most protective boots I can get.

6D ATR-2, Leatt 5.5 neck brace, Leatt 5.5 chest/back protector and Asterisk knee braces for me. Just trying to minimize as much risk as possible.

What’re these padded shorts you all speak of? My left hip would like to know after an impromptu trip to Mother Earth this past weekend

1 lesson that I learned was 2 years ago. I would wear my Thor Sentinel outer chest protector only when I raced and just a padded Seven compression shirt on practice nights. A kid pulled out in front of me while I was in the air on a rhythm section and I got jacked (concussion, torn cartlidge in my chest / ribs etc.) So I bought an Alpinestars under-the-jersey hardshell chest protector for practice. So I will always wear that or the our protector. I also wear EVS knee pads. I stopped wearing braces, but still have them, if I ever decide to switch. On the fence about that.

Klim makes the best, all the others have useless padding.

I wear a lot... normal plus chest protector, neck protection, elbow pads, and knee pads.... I dress for the crash, not for ultimate comfort.... although, what I wear, I don't even notice anymore...

I wear these…padded undercarriage to prevent monkey butt, and they work great to prevent chaffing with my knee pads.

Heard that it’s illegal in California to remove protection mid moto.
