The title pretty much says it all. I'm curious to know how many of you have actually won a race? I've been all over the podium but never at the top. The only thing I've "won" is a heat race in arenacross, which doesn't quite count.

Back when I was still racing, I got the holeshot against a full line of 250Fs on a 125 and led the first two laps before tipping over in a slow turn... That's the closest I got to winning.

I won the novice class 2 weeks ago, I was sand bagging though
Moved up to expert and got my arse kicked, 4th overall

A few local class wins in b grade and a few club championships. Defiantly an addictive feeling

There are two kinds of people against dirt bikes, those who never tried and those who weren't good at them.

Ive won some state championships and multiple races in mini, c, b, a, and aa. Never in pro though.

Just turned 50 and have only ridden a time or two a year for the past ten years. Holeshot and won recently. Did get my ass totally handed to me by the one expert rider they gated with us. The kid gapped me probably half a lap! I never considered myself fast in the first place and I am now getting old and getting even slower. But winning has always been a blast.

Enduros when I raced as a young bloke, grew up in the sticks so made sense... never MX though, I still feel a bit weird having more than 1 foot of track to move around on!

Braaapin' aint easy.

I won a "bigger" race on minis when the fastest kid in my class had bike issues on the gate right before the second moto. I pulled the holeshot, got passed by a big name Team Green kid, he got squirrely and flew off the track into some trees shortly after and I went on to win. Other than odd local races no one showed up to, that was the only relevant win on my list. Every squid has his day.

I "practice raced" a lot before I ever entered my first race so I had a little hand up on the other 125 novices. In my neck of the woods there was novice, intermediate, and expert (local pro level) and you were forced to move up a class when you won three races.

I won my first three novice races, won my first three intermediate races and in 7 races was racing with the local pros. Never won another race at that level!!!!

I'm 50 now so it's pretty easy to at least squeeze in a podium here and there but wins...they're an elusive animal!

I won a couple REM races on Saturdays in Glen Helen back in the day. Does that count?

|

I guess technically I've won a few races. With that being said, winning local races in arkansas on 60's and 80's when the gates usually only had maybe 5-10 people in the class (and a lot of times less than that) is hardly a feat worth mentioning. I was slow and would always get absolutely waxed when fast guys showed up

I've won a lot of local pro class races and lots of Junior and intermediate back in the day, but only one CMRC Pro moto. hell of a moto though

Won some D23 races in 250C, 16-24 B, 250B and 25+B (two-stroke days-90's). Raced D36 offroad in 1998 and won a couple 250 A races anytime Steve Hengeveld wouldn't show up and Kurt Caselli still raced a 125. Won 2005 GFI fall Series in 30+Am. Moved to NC and won a handful of local races and started trying my hand at the Loretta's thing. Qualified and got 6th OA at Loretta's in 2010 in 30+B/C and Qualified for 35+ and 30+B/C in 2012 but got hurt in practice at the ranch and haven't raced since. That did allow 2 alternates to race the national that year though, so somebody won!. Just turned 40 in August and looking to get the train back on the tracks and race again through this winter in AZ and So. Cal.

won a number of the years, many in the expert class here (which was B grade really, we had national above it) won a race at the nationals and finished 3rd overall, and won a coouple of the bigger meetings,

also won a big meeting here in the 500 Class in 2000, on a KX500, (for the kiwi's on here, it was at what is now called Summer X, then the Whakatane Xmas Motocross) have won a few vets races a few years back,

never managed to win a Cross COuntry overall tho, got 2nd in a once, and a couple of other top 5's,

|

When I was racing, started winning C class races and developing some speed. Finished 7-12 in a few full-gate B races before selling my bikes and going to college which, in hindsight, was probably a good move (2002).

|

11/30/2015 4:08 PM

In 48-years of motos, 2nd OA was the best I could get.
That included 3-moto formats back in the day.
Can't say I didn't try.

I don't trust any "Joined Date" later than 2012

Fortunate to have bumbled into wins across four decades! And as someone else mentioned, the old guy classes have been much more kind to my trophy collection than 125B/250B was back when I was a kid. So all you young guys hang in there, you have something to look forward to!

11/30/2015 4:18 PM

2 wins... 40+ vet.
3 wins...open beginner.
1 win...carnival arenacross... combined c/d.
