Just want to know how many of you ride with ear plugs?

I do now, I've lost a lot of my hearing & have to ware bilateral Hearing aids to hear most of the time.

Most of it do to not thinking about the use of the soft\foam ear plug & lots of fun things that were detrimental to my ears.

Even with the plugs in I can still hear the motor on my Bike & other bikes around me.

Hell I can even hear the "fast Kids" yelling for me to move out of their way Laughing Hey I'm old & slow!

Never used to when I was younger but since finding out about the damage caused by loud noise, I do now. This may sound sad but I wear them when I go to watch a National or GP. Can's stand that ringing in my ears afterwards.

I have been wearing ear plugs for over ten years and nowadays I can't ride without them because I'm so used to using them.

I wore them from almost day one. 47 years ago. I don't know why I chose to do so. No one told me. It certainly was not in the culture back then. I always felt I could hear better, my bike and those around me, if I could reduce the noise base. Muffling the majority of the white noise.

I also religiously wear hearing protectors while mowing, around power tools, and around airplanes at work. I still have some hearing loss, but maybe not as much as if I'd never worn earplugs?

I wear them, helps me ride my 125 and 250 higher In the rpm. I feel like it blocks out noise and let's me focus ahead instead of what's around me.

I've worn them since i've started riding. You'd be surprised how many people think its super weird to ride with them. But i cant ride without them. I know a few pros, such as Joey Savatgy wear them too.

Tried both ways and if I remember it I'll put em in. The ringing can be pretty bad after if there are lots of bikes riding at the same time. If it's just a couple doesn't seems to bad.

I've been using ear plugs since 1997 when I bought my first 4 Stroke a Husaberg 400 and put a Big Gun Exhaust on it. Will not ride without them!~

If it is simple trial ride with a group I do not wear them.

I'm pretty deaf now from years of jet aircraft, guns, rock music, and bikes. I sure wish I'd worn more hearing protection when I was young. I do now but it's way too late. If you don't wear them you should. I miss hearing crickets chirp and frogs croak. Without my hearing aids in I don't hear any high frequency stuff anymore.

Yup- I wear them. It does indeed help focus. Can't ride without them now-

OK, seriously. I usually do, and try to remember every time. Even working around the house with power equipment. 35 years of aviation & dirt bikes is not good on hearing. Sometimes I wonder if I could hear a freight train if I was strapped to the engine and it was rolling through a tunnel.

I think the flight deck did me the worst. No doubt bird hunting in the high Mojave didn't help any either. Shotguns definitely have a report you'll remember, especially if you're with 5 or 6 of your buddies and you walk into a covey of quail or spot a bunch of chukar running up a hill.

I've never needed them on all my 2 strokes. I haven't owned a 4 stroke so wouldn't know.

I do with any bike now riding or racing. Everything seems calmer and you wont have a headache from the noise. I cant ride without them anymore though.

Moto - no ...although with more and more deadheads these days holding their bikes wide open (on the rev limiter) on the start line to 'clear them out' is fucking annoying, so might start wearing them for moto
Everything else off road - yes

Interesting timing. Just yesterday I picked up a 50 pack of disposable ones at Harbor Freight for $6 (w/25% off coupon of course).

Never worn them in Moto but I watch Eli pull them out before every interview and though what the hell why not...

I'm riding some track tomorrow, will report back.

I've been wearing them, didn't always. Feel weird without them now. I had the sensation that I was going faster or twisting it harder.

I wear them while riding motocross. They seem to help me focus on just my bike and riding, however I can still hear other riders around me. They really help me hear when I'm not on the throttle enough or if I'm too choppy with the throttle. It seems for me that canceling out other noises really makes a difference.

The worst thing a person can do is shift by sound. You need to de able feel when to shift! When practicing starts I recommend that riders use small head phones with loud music so that they have to learn the feel of the power and shift points.

I can relate. I spent 15 years working in a Large coal fired power plant. I didn't always wear my ear protection.
Now I'm paying the price.
My hearing is not good. But I've never tried earplugs when I ride.
Like you, I wear a 6D helmet for the excellent protection it provides, but never thought about ear plugs.
Do you think they help?
