My son's attempted to do back-to-back bike and then quad at local Hare scrambles . we have one Tim farr's old KTM quads never seem to be able to finish a race with out it breaking.

Atv's always felt more comfortable to me, still much faster and jump further on one than a bike but a lot of tracks around here aren't being as accepting of them anymore.




And you can make out the thumb throttle a little in this picture

Yeah i feel the same way, ive always road faster lap times on a quad than a bike, i can also keep up with my buddies who are on bikes as well.

Our main problem was with throttle on it that little switch that's in throttle housing. The last time he rode it though it started smoking really bad and the engine kept shutting off , I just haven't had time to tear the engine down. they really are a pain in the ass to work on compared to bikes.

I used to try and get a jar set at sign up that everyone could toss a dollar or two in so the quad guys could get their sixpack and go the hell home to drink and do their donuts in the yard and not ruin the track.
