How many bikes have you crammed in the back of a truck?

Me and my buddys are wanting to take a road trip to one of REDDDD BUUUUUDDs open practice days to actually ride the track. There could potentially be 4 of us going. How many bikes have u shoved in the back of your truck?

I've had four in the back of a short bed Chevy as well as a short bed F250. Gear and crap for four people is going to be stacked all over everything though. Hope you have a crew cab!

4 full size bikes in the back of a standard bed truck. Start on one side and load the big forward like normal. Do not put any straps on until ALL bikes are loaded. Someone hold bike. Back the next bike up beside the first and continue until you have all four bikes loaded. Take the wire straps that hold on your tailgate and lift them up, while lifting the tailgate, wrap the wires around the notches that the tailgate clicks into when closed. This will give you a slight ramp but let the bikes facing forward still fit. Now strap everything down.

Good luck with the gas cans, but they can usually fit slightly laid over on the slanted tail gate. Also would help if you can share gas so you only need to bring one or two.

Hope its a 4 door truck or you'll have to figure out who the 2 guys are that are riding bitch.

I've had 3 full size and an 85 in the back of a tacoma + gear, gas, tools, and fluids. We had that truck packed like a can of sardines! We only had to drive 5 miles so we weren't worried about maxing the payload Wink

My brother and I went for a week to Steamboat Springs CO. for the Vintage Nationals many years ago.We brought two TY250 trials bikes and two DR 350 dualsports and two mountain bicycles on top of the motorcycles all the tool box coolers, gas cans etc.in a F150 long bed. While at the event I had to buy a 1968 Suzuki 80 Hillbilly(was the same model bike I learned to ride on.sentimental purchase). Strapped that to the wheels of the 4 bikes in the bed as it sat on the tailgate in the open position .Riding gear and clothes bags were in the back of the cab
On the way home at a gas station an old guy walks and ask where we had been and why we had so many bikes with us. We explained that we had competed on the trials bikes and rode the dualsports all over the mountains near Steamboat. He said all you need is a rocking chair and a granny on top of all that and you could be the Clampetts and he walked away shaking his head.
Great trip.

Definitely not as cool as the pic above, but me and my buddy got 3 big Harleys in the back of my dually behind my 110 gallon aux. fuel tank.

Ridge, getting 3 fat ass Harley's is an accomplishment. Kudos to you.

But I doubt anything can top this pic, I am guessing this is one of those Costa Rica off road tour companies? Which I have on my bucket list of things to do, even if they jam 10 bikes into one Nissan pickup.

I saw 5 loaded before. They were all loaded sideways. Front tire up against the side of the bed. The back tires siting up on the rail.

Going racing: S-10 loaded up. There is a TTR 90 in there somewhere.

this is moto at it's finest right here.

do what you gotta do to get to the races, no matter what.

there was a guy that followed our series through Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada that put his bike on the top of his Buick. he made it to every single round, didn't care what it looked like. he was going racing dammit, regardless of his transporter

where are you at in IL? Some friends I hit a few of the open practices up there, we usually have room to toss another bike in the truck or trailer. I might have a 3 rail trailer going up for sale soon if you are looking for one.

We got a RM125, motocross gear and clothes for a weeks holiday in the back of a VW golf and drove all the way to Belgium from the north of England, had to build it at every track then strip it to get it back in. I've got pics somewhere.

We loaded 5 bikes in my friends truck years ago when we went to Dumont Dunes. It was an older 4 door Ford diesel. It was cramped as all hell though. 5 bikes, 5 guys and gear for all 5 of us. We staggered the bikes, one went in head first, then the next one went in backwards, etc........

What's the secret to strapping them down? Whenever I put 2 bikes in the truck 1 always leans when I turn because the strap closest to the bed side has to much of an angle.

Did they all break down at the same time?
