How high are the chances of Ferrandis to win it ?

Edited Date/Time 8/30/2021 3:01pm
First one is in the book and he got the W.

He is fast, knows how to win a title.

On a scale from 0 to 100, how do you see his chances of winning the title ?

About as good as anybody else at this point. it's only been one race so far a bit premature to be talking championship.

About 50 50 , though there's only a 10% chance of that.

Thinking with a racer's mentality, he's got a 50/50 chance.

He'll either win it or he won't.

70/100....I think he's going to continue to run up front and rake in more moto wins. Adam and Chase have the best speed but have yet to show they can play the long game. Ken's moto win was surprising...we'll see what happens there although he is another one who struggles with the long game. These other guys (Osbourne, Tomac, Webb) are trying to tip toe into this thing and might quickly find themselves way behind the #14 in points.

I still do not trust his starts to be consistent enough to win. I hope he can prove me wrong.

I don't see it happening. Then again, I would never have called it for Dungey to win his first 450 outdoor campaign, either. Still, I think the long-term beat down of the 450 class is going to wear on him. I think this year still belongs to someone old guard, like Tomac, Roczen, Osborne or Webb. Next year it's Webb, Cianciarulo, Sexton or Ferrandis. (Webb is on the fence between new guy and old guy.)

I'm a Tomac guy, always been a fan of AC, and can see the potential for Sexton....
But there is just something about how much Dylan seems to care, how he seems to relish every moment he has at the top. Plessinger seems similar.
I know the other guys care, but to me Dylan and Plessinger just seem to still have that "kid on a dirt bike" enthusiasm and I love seeing it.
I'd say Dylan has all the tools to make it happen. Wouldn't be shocked. Percentage pie? 40%

If he gets his starts dialed in, he will be dangerous.

He is willing to go and push for it every time, while there are guys in that 12 pack that aren’t willing to do that.

Very few have ever lead the points in the big boy pants nationals.... Especially as a rookie... Good for Dylan, hope he keeps the momentum rolling!

But ya... I expect him to finish 3-5th overall by season's end...

I don't even consider webb as a guy who is a possibility.

It's his rookie 450 season. He will be prone to crashes and dumb mistakes just like all other 450 rookies.

Impossible to tell at this point with only 1 moto win, but he's in the top 5 favorites in my opinion.

I'm rooting for him. It's been a while since a rookie won a premier class championship.

Let’s get through 4 rounds first. We saw him show great speed in SX with an early podium in round 2 and then struggle rest of year. Mx is way different so he could keep the ball rolling but still way to early to tell. I see guys like Tomac Webb Zacko all getting better as well. Gonna be a fun year

Barcia has looked like the man in SX 3 years in a row after round 1 and didn't get it done. Let's calm down a bit. Sideways

I think it’s wide open after just the opening round. My guess is that (and I genuinely mean no disrespect to any racers) that Ken will be the guy with the points lead in the first half but fold from his health issues as the season wears on. Eli needs to look like he actually wants it this weekend or I’ll assume he’s just riding out his contract. AC will be fast as will Sexton but they need to keep it on two wheels to be consistently in the title chase. Zac may get better as the series wears on but how far down will he be by then? Webb will have very good weekends (podiums and maybe a couple moto wins with the right start) and not so good weekends (I’m expecting more of those). The more I think about it Dylan has a real chance if he can string a few wins together early on.
