Impossible

Edit: I guess not technically impossible but you would have to make sure the minimum number of units are available and the model is homologated by the ama.

About as much work as it would take to turn a motocross bike into an enduro bike. Which begs the question, why?

Remove side stand and lights, add front number plate and race numbers. Shizam! But how fast do you want to go?

Sherco had a 250F mx version a couple years back, the CC models aren't that far off from MX bikes as is. Beta 125 is very capable and would be a good MXer.

The outdoor Nationals is a tall order however and impossible as implies due to production numbers, rules and fees.

It would be extremely difficult. The gearing and suspension are totally different. All the differences aside, why would you want to turn one into a motocrosser? Why not just buy a motocross bike and save the headache?

it wouldn't matter what you did because they couldn't race in the outdoor nationals because they aren't homologated to raceWhistlingWhistling

I'd love to see TM get into the mix. They're doing well with their mini's.

GasGas turned an XC 300 into an MX bike for Damon Bradshaw a couple years ago. There's an article on MXA.

Just cause you can doesnt mean you should.

Didn't the sherco XC bike get comments in the Vital shootout about how flexy it felt when compared to the YZFx, CRFx, KTM, Husky. Now put a pro level mx rider on a national track with it.

Point has been made you can't because of homologation rules. But to go MX racing all you need to do is remove lights and add numbers. Yes, turning it into a motocross bike is another whole thing. A lot of guys in VET and novice or even intermediate would be fine as I listed. It ain't the bike holding them back

You said to race in outdoor nationals, not "Vet and novice or even intermediate".

If you are a vet and still a novice, yes, you can race it as is. No need to remove the lights.

So tired of these boutique bikes. Lets see, i will buy a bike that is harder to get parts for, more costly, less knowledge and support. The manufacturer may go tango uniform tomorrow. The bike wont help you. Get out and ride!!!!!!!

Tired of boutique bikes means tired of choice. Perhaps a UJM is the machine for you then?

That wasn’t the question asked. Of course you and I would be fine. The original post asked about the outdoor nationals.

The Beta 125 looked severely underpowered at straight rhythm....

I would not let that race dissuade me or anybody from choosing the Beta or Sherco as a MX bike. It is not necessarily indicative of what MX is. I can see what you mean however.

Basically, they're broke. Again. They have a hard time paying subcontractors so they can't produce so they can't make money... Vicious circle, all over again. They pulled the plug on the factory team, also.

Shame. Their 300 off roader is supposedly tits from what I've read and heard from owners. And with the KYB shock and closed chamber forks, is way better bike tgan the KTM with WP Xplod forks
