Can't seem to find OA's outside the Top 10 for the GP this weekend.

The 800's past few US Nationals weren't not quite top 5 - see below - then take into acct he is 2 yrs older at present & also coming off of a back injury...

Good ride in first moto, come from 20 th to 13....no idea about 2 Nd moto.
With a full pre season on mxgp tracks,no reason can't be a top 10 guy in mxgp.

It was not a bad ride at all. The top 10 is going really fast, they can all win a moto or podium at the MXdN !

Plus in the second moto, I do not know in which position he was (15-18?) but he crashed and took a while to get going.

2nd moto he was running up to 14th I think, I'm pretty sure he was up there until nearly the end. Febvre lapped him on the last lap as he had crashed, bike was facing the wrong way at the bottom of one of the hills as he came past.

He got a few mentions, the commentators couldn't get their heads around the team name, 'Smart Concepts, ah, smart top? Umm, yeah, smart top motoconcepts racing...' Was a little laugh

Hi ! I did not, it is a bit far from my place (about 10h return) but mainly I do not manage to convince my friends to come over. They are upset because of the cost to attend big events nowadays, a good week end is about 200€/300€ each (tickets + car park + camping or hotel + petrol + highway fees), almost as expensive as F1 (!), they prefer to ride instead when not injured. I am a bit ennoyed because I wanted to attend the MXdN badly and I am sure they will not change their mind in the mean time !

In all cases, this week end was impossible for me: I am in bed since Friday, with a teeth infection that doubled half of my head, with big fevers etc. I slept like hell. The only thing I did when I was awake was watching motos ! I was almost tempted to go to hospital but I do not feel like waiting 6 or 8 hours in the emergency room Smile Now with strong drugs it looks like I still have 2 or 3 bad days and it will be ok ... Fortunately I will have recovered for the week end, where I am gonna buy a big bore, 500 CR 2001 Smile

Mike Alessi is not a top 5 rider in the States and he hasn't even raced the Nats since 2013 so I don't know why people love to think Mike represents the state of MX in the US right now.

What amazes me more is where mikes starts are, they don't exist in comparison to the GP boys.

He's starting around 30th or so which isn't helping his cause, it was good to see him running top 15 and now they are confirmed over here next year for the season and appear open to living and training here hopefully he will do better and put up a better rep of himself.

Good on Genova for putting his money up, we are glad to have them supporting the series.

I'm sure there's a reason I haven't heard, but why isn't he doing the Nats?

Yes in fact AMA still has rubberband starts. That may be causing the problem.

He really surprised me when he passed a few riders in the closing stages of that 1st moto. But he didn't confirm in the second one...

Second moto I saw he was around 27th in the first few laps, worked his way up to 18th, until the last lap as they showed him picking his bike up (while getting lapped). He must have crashed early as well because his start looked about mid-pack but then he came around at the back of the top 20.

At least the first moto went better, not stellar but at least he was competitive (not with the top tier, but not a back marker either).

I bet he is getting more attention running the GP's than he would finishing in the same place in the US Nationals, good for him and his team to have the guts to try it.
