Hoosier Motocross Tires

I’ve got 27 hours on a 25 front. The carcass started to crack at around 8 hours but I’ve only lost one knob

I wonder if something like kevlar could be added for longevity.

Hoosier is taking care of it for me and replacing the tire...They said I got one of the earlier compounds that was cracking and the replacement should not do it.

That's great news for you mate!, nice result and info too. I thought I had read that the early tires had some issues, like I said.

So, are you going with the 25 or the 25 "S"?.

If at all possible, ask for some confirmation on the two types please!.

Again, well done.

S is for a stiffer carcass to help with the shearing of the knobs.
So, is the "S" now the normal mx you buy or is there two types available?.

I ordered the same mx25 I couldn’t really get any info from them I don’t think the retailer I bought the tire from knows much about mx they seem to be more car stuff. They were real good guys to deal with I was not expecting a new tire nor did I ask for one I just wanted to see if that was normal given the amount of time and conditions I rode on it.

Buy these and then when you smoke your homies on track you can say "Hooiser daddy now bitches?"

Worth it.

Every Hoosier I've owned (5 in total) has done the exact same thing... Awesome performance for 5hrs and then things go to crap.

Well it is marketed as a race tire, not a weekend worrier tire. All of mine did that too.

Pretty sure I've raced a few times using these tires. 5hrs on a tire is unacceptable.

We are a dealer for them and have had mixed opinions from customers. Everyone loves the tire, a lot do not like how fast they wear for most. We have had some get many more hours out of the them than others. We have personally ran them and like them and plan to continue to race with them. The newer compound does seem to last longer than the original compound!

Me: "I just got a $2500 engine build from XXX Racing Engines, it's so badass I ripped the holeshot in both motos Sunday and it pops wheelies in 5th gear!"

Me also: "My engine blew up at 12.5hrs and took out the cylinder, head, valves, and cases. XXX Racing Engines sucks!"

Lol!! 100% accurate!

You’re going to get excellent performance but not longevity. I love them but I know what I’m getting. I’m willing to pay more for performance.

People will complain loud enough and long enough that Hoosier will change the compound for longer life. Then performance will start to suffer because you can’t have both. The same people complaining about longevity will say the tire isn’t worth the price. “It’s not a ‘spec race tire’”. They’ll say it’s false advertising.

Can’t win with those clowns.
