Hoping they will be at the Dubya Vet Worlds with tires to display and maybe sell.

2019 is around the corner, and yes, the fronts are here. A big thank you to everyone who patiently waited and everyone who didn't (you kept us fired up). There are currently three rear compounds (20/25/30), and two front (25/30) compounds. Since this thread is already started, we will continue to post here unless there is a need to create a new thread. More information to come. We are looking forward to the challenges ahead and more importantly, seeing you riding freely and competing!

Anaheim SX Starting Compound Recommendation:

250: MX25 FRONT MX20 REAR

450: MX25 FRONT MX25 REAR

*MX30 (hardest of the three) optional

Have you scheduled a demo day with Vital so we can hear first impressions on the tires?

Also, cheap advertising that a lot of us enthusiasts would watch.

TSCHAM101-

Thank you for the advice and love the idea.

We have reached out to a VitalMx member who reviewed the rear tire and hope to have something in the near future.

Let's get together, VitalMx.

We need somebody like Keefer or ML to ride the front and rear. Gota get honest reviews before trying them, but really really interested.

On the compounds, 25 is for softer dirt and 30 for harder? It says above 30 is the hardest, but didn't know if that meant rubber compound or for hardest dirt.

I think its rubber compounds though.. harder rubber for softer conditions and soft rubber for hard pack...

I will let Hoosier correct me if I’m wrong, but this is what I believe to be true-

MX20, MX25 & MX30 available in 110/80-19” & 120/80-19” rears
MX25 and MX30 available in 80/100-21” fronts and also 120/80-18” rears
(ALL ARE MADE IN USA !!)

These are noticeably lighter than the Dunlop MX33 tires that I have on the shelf !

Yes, MX20 is the softest rubber compound, it mimics the Dunlop spec tires that the factory teams get to use. This will be a popular tire at A1, with the privateers, I’m sure of it. Unless Dunlop is a sponsor and you are forced to use them, it would behoove anybody to give them a try. This is a great tire and worked reall well on a harder packed track (I5MX and Milestone in the afternoon) and also worked great at a soft dirt track (LACR, Zaca, Cal City).
( I got 15 hours out of mine with zero knobs breaking off and plenty of rubber left on the tire.)

I have just mounted a MX25 compound 120 rear on my RMZ 450 and will report my opinion after I ride it. It is noticeably harder compound than the MX20 compound 110 that I just removed. I am looking forward to see how it performs at the softer tracks...

I have a MX20 rear 120 and a MX25 front, on the way for my 2nd set of wheels, which I will ride back to back with the MX25 that is currently on the bike. Both soft terrain and harder-packed dirt. I’m no Kris Keefer, but I’ll do my best to give honest feedback.

I am ordering an 18” 120 rear in the MX25 or MX30 compound, (depending on how I like the MX25 that I have on my bike now), along with the MX 25 front, to try on my off-road bike. I’ve been using the Gummy style tires and really like them, so I’m not sure what to expect. But I will give my honest opinion, once I get a set and put them on a spare set of wheels.
I have been running the Shinko 525 Cheater tire and 90/90-21 Shinko front and am liking them a lot better than the Dunlop AT81’s that I had been using. But I bought the Dunlop AT81EX rear 120 that is also a Gummy tire that is made in Japan, instead of Indonesia. The front i got is the standard AT81, which works pretty good until the edge is gone, then it’s kinda sketchy, IMO. But if the Hoosier 18” tire works like the 19” tires I’ve been using, it’ll be a no brained for me.

I still have a 110 MX20 that I haven’t used yet, so being that it is noticeably skinnier than the Dunlop 110 rears and is lighter than the 100 Dunlop MX33 rear, I am going to throw it on my KTM SX150. I think it’ll be a great size tire and will work great on the little bike.

Yes, as far as I know there is just the one tread pattern rear tire. At least the two sizes/ compound that I have are.

But after looking at the site again, it appears maybe they just have the 18” in the MX30.

The MX30 will probably last the longest and be a great tire for the desert guys. I do a lot of single track and various terrain types, including rocky areas which the MX25 would probably work better. But I’m willing to give one a try and see how it performs. Being that there is every type of dirt where we ride, I’ll find out where it shines and where it doesn’t.

Yeah, I’ve seen them too. I think at Red Bud (Des Nations) last year.
I woukd iimagine that they would continue to make all sizes, but I haven’t seen anything saying that yet. Maybe they will chime in here and set the record(s) Straight here ?

Lower the number, softer the compound.
