Who the hell needs EFI on a mini trail bike?
I got so pissed when I saw this I did not look up the price difference. Next will be dual exhaust on a 50.

I won't be buying Honda out of resent for the impact of stupid EFI trail bikes on ridership.

Price TBA because it more than before.

Who here thinks EFI is more influential to entering the sport than price?

Did you feel the same way when cars went EFI?

Isn't just about every bike slowly creeping up in price every year? Labour, shipping and manufacturing costs certainly do.

The 2019 CRF125F will probably be around $3,599 to $3,699...in order to be competitive with the KLX140G...which is priced at $3,699.

Edit: Whoa...I've got that all wrong...the 125F is only 16/19? It shouldn't be more than $3,499.

Bike prices are going to go up regardless, might as well include something as beneficial as EFI on them. At least that's my opinion on it.

pretty interesting having EFI on a trail bike. The 2019 110 is quite different.

I can’t wait to have a 110 EFI. No more jetting or anything. Can ride it at any elevation with no adjusting. Gonna love it for sure

My thoughts exactly. I will not miss carburetors one bit.

Necessary? Absolutely not for that kind of bike. But it's a great idea to do it. Just eliminated carb cleans for the guy who's kids/wife that ride a couple times a year. Just eliminated a bunch of work for shops and guys like me that do it to help friends out when their bikes have been sitting. Maybe we will get some fuel filters and fuel pumps, but I see a lot of guys doing it themselves now.

WOW! step off the ledge and calm down

2018 CRF 230F = $4299 MSRP
updated FI equipped CRF 250F = $4599 MSRP

A $300 increase for updated styling and fuel injection. Honda should actually be applauded!!

$300 is about the price for a carb clean when your 230F has been sitting unridden for a few months and all of a sudden it's riding season and your bike won't start or runs like crap...which is VERY common for those bikes and the people that buy and use them.

People without the ability or inclination to mess with a carb will like the EFI, I would think. I'm curious as to what constitutes "need". These bikes aren't in a high state of tune, nor does anyone expect them to be. So EFI isn't needed for the performance benefits. But that doesn't mean there are no benefits, or that those benefits aren't appealing to many trail riders.

If someone doesn't want to pay for a more expensive bike with EFI, go buy a DRZ or a used bike. Problem solved.

Is this really a reason for intense anger?

300$ for a carb cleaning! Put down your fidget spinner and do it yourself for free.

If some manufacturers returned to producing additional two-stroke models, I fully expect people to complain about how much the new ones would cost versus the "old days". Wink

Yeah, goddamnit! Learn to work on a carb or find another sport! We don't want your kind around here.

I guess I'm old school, I like simplicity. I'll take a carb over FI any day. I've even converted my FI Harley to carburetor. It seems overkill to have it on a kids trail bike.

Is there one person on earth that truly loves jetting a bike or cleaning a carb??? My kids only want to ride so often, so the idea of not having to clean the carb or fuck with jetting is quite appealing to me..... Good job Honda

I'd agree, but after working at a shop for 4 years your view changes. I do it all myself after learning at the shop and can probably do it in my sleep, but a lot of guys don't want to bother. Carb cleans were a lot of our business in the back of the shop. $95 for labor to clean it, $95 to remove and reinstall the carb plus the price of jets and whatever else it may need. I myself don't charge that much to clean carbs or remove/reinstall, but it's a lot of the work that I do. Even on a bike as easy as a ttr125 or crf150f, people don't want to do it.

I was cleaning carburators jetting the bike and could rebuild a top end before I could drive a car. I guess the future generation wont have that skill set. Just stay on your cell phone all day and pay the bike shop to do it in 2019.

Yes my dad truly loves working on his bike and I don't mind it. I also take pride in not being a little millennial wimp who cant clean or jet a carburator.

I actually sold both of my trail 90's because I was absolutely sick of cleaning carbs. Good job Honda, I'm thinking that 125F is now an even more awesome pit bike.

Do you want a biscuit or a cookie for this amazing life accomplishment?

Look, it's clear how you feel. Good news for you there is an abundant market of gently used trail bikes with gummed up carbs that you'll be able to buy cheap then clean and fix up all by yourself. Yay!

Still not sure why you're so angry?

I think there is a difference in people who cant, and people that don't want to...…..

If you cant fix a Honda trail bike just give up your man card these are the easiest bikes to work on. I could pound a 5th of Tequila and fix an XR carb with one eye open faster than your sister on a first date no problem

It also looks like they switched to box section perimeter frames on the new models. Are they aluminum?

OMG dude. I really want to meet you in person so I can see your face knowing that you will load up your bike and drive to the shop unload it and pay 300$ for some one to clean your carb when I could have been done with the card and your sister in an hour for free. 2018 is absolutely depressing. And I could have done that in high school no problem.
