Tier 1
James Stewart
Ryan Villopoto
Chad Reed
Ryan Dungey

Tier 1.5
Andrew Short
Josh Hansen (if he can keep his head)

Tier 2
Grant Langston
Kevin Windham
Davi Millsaps
Mike Alessi

Not a lot of room for a wild card rider at that top this year.
Where is Ferry?
Tedesco?

May just be worth $60 for a ticket.

I'm pumped for the season too. But I wouldn't be so quick to throw Hansen into 1.5, or K-Dub into 2. let them prove themselves in '10 first.

Yep, Grant, Hill, Brayton are missing. No M. Alessi for SX...and I'm not sure which class Hansen will be in. Just sayin'...

RD and RV still need to prove themselves as tier 1 riders IMO.

If Hanson rides as well in the series as he did at the X-Games he might be Tier 1 as well. That's just MHO..

Hey..Hey...Tiki

Better add Josh Grant to Tier 1!
Excellent point. I forgot him. The top is packed with talent. More so than previous years.

Mike Alessi is outdoors only.
Oops...just notice GuyB mentioned that.

Grant and Brayton definitely need in that mix.

I dont see how an outdoor contract only can be worth a shit for a sponsor.

This is like a top Nascar guy never going to anywhere except Dizzy as Hell raceway in BFE, USA

JE:

Brayton is going to be every bit a "podium contender" as Millsaps, Short, Tedesco...count on it.

Don't count out Reardon on the big bike either.

I'm excited for this year. I might have to take in a few rounds. I did St Louis last year and I think this year, Indy and Dallas trips are in order and maybe Vegas if it's down to the wire

Let's hope this list stays intact through the offseason. I would love to see some great racing come A1.

Really? Outside sponsors money is BS in my opinion, they go as fast as they come. Riders get paid thanks to the dummies that buy bikes and parts and race or ride regularlly, not noticing that and leting them be SX only is what I don't understand, I even think is an insult to us.

Interesting that people write Reed off so quickly. There are only two people ever to have finished better than him in a championship - one of them is retired and the other is recognised as arguably the fastest SX rider of all time.

Not saying that RV can't do it, but it will genuinely put him up there in the ranks of great SX riders if he can finish the season better than Reed. I guess this season is the real acid test for him - he's had his rookie season.

A couple of wins doesn't make a title contender. The true Tier 1 riders of this decade, JS, RC, CR, are so far ahead of everyone else it isn't funny.

How many other guys have "a couple of wins" in the last few years?

Can't wait for SX... and I really don't care that much for SX. Smile

Well, in the last five years there are exactly four people who have won mains apart from the big three - Windham (5), Millsaps (2), Hansen (2) and Villo (2).
