Looking to get a holeshot device for my new bike and looking for some recommendations. I’ve read people complaining about them on here/saying you don’t need one (and yes I understand your point that if everyone has one it cancels out the advantage) but I have a 29” inseam and can barley touch the ground so they make sense for me.

On my old bike I was running a tamer double button which I liked the idea of since you can use the higher position for concrete starts..I would get another one but they are tough to set..usually I’ll ask a random dude on the line and they usually struggle getting it to stick and if they don’t get it right it will release as soon as I get the revs up..I can only get it in the higher position by myself and it’s usually a struggle..That’s the only one I’ve had though so not sure if they are all like that. Don’t do allot of concrete starts so would probably take easy of use over the double position. Need one for my sons bike also and he does quite a few concrete gates so might go with the tamer for him. I’m always on the line with him to set it anyways..

Was looking at a works connection but am open to other ones also. Not a big pro taper guy so not really interested in their self setting one. Looks fragile also.

Works connection is pretty bullet proof from what I’ve seen.

I’ve been using the pro taper SELA, the one that you can set yourself and it’s been working perfect.

Pro Taper SELA. Yes it's expensive. But the amount of starts you can practice by yourself with it is just unbeatable.

Just keep it clean and lubricated and it will work flawlessly.

Another thing to consider is if it’s back ordered. Tamer was the only shop that had one in stock when I went to get one for my bike.

I use the pro taper SELA cause I go to the track by myself 95% of the time and I don’t wanna leave it up to chance that there won’t be someone to help me. I’d heard some questions on the design too, but idk I’ve had zero issues so far.

I set my works connection by myself multiple times. I got really good at it because you only have one shot as you roll up to the gate from staging, otherwise you look like an idiot riding back and forth behind the gate with your leg out. Poof, mental advantage gone

Works connection. Nice and sleek. Works very well. Installation is easy enough.

The Tamer systems last the longest for sure. I typically don’t use the top button but have worn out the bottom button, took it off the fork guard and flipped it and had a brand new button. Also once you wear out the spot on the ring where the pin catches you can just move it a little and you have a brand new catch spot.

We use the OEM Husqvarna push button. My wife claims it’s easier for her to lock in than the Works Connection. I believe her because she never misses with Husky unit. It was always 2-3 attempts with the WC unit. I don’t understand it either but that’s what she claims.

Another one for the works Connection device. American made. Been around for years, tried and true.
Cheers

The works connection one is great, it’s super easy for me to set by myself with my boot. And I’ve never had a problem out of one.

But if you do get it locked in... you already won the mental game. Its do or die

Are we talking about the roczen way where you grab a handful of front brake n get it with you heal? I don't see how that's possible with the WC set up since you have to lift the lever. I can do it with my Tamer set up but only to the first latch. My wife sets both sides of my Tamer with minimal effort in most cases tho.

I have a works connection, I can lock it by myself. Hold rear brake, grab front wheel and roll it towards you and lock it.

Pro taper SELA. Ive been using it for about a year and a half and no issues at all. Great product, easy to use, and durable.
