The 21 is so damn good that they're bringing back the 20 huh??. My buddy who had the two 21's that I rode hated them so much that he sold them both a week after he got to Florida in November and then got clubbed like a baby seal on two 20 CRF450s from a local dealer down there. He's very happy now.

The full article says all 6 2022 crf450's. No changes mentioned. I guess the speculation for a all new 250? All the r&d went towards it?

Man, I don't think you or your buddy gave them a fair shake.. I'm loving my WE and I'm pretty picky. I think hondas just using up old inventory for what you've posted.

He rode them quite a bit before giving up on them. I rode them both and I didn't like them at all in comparison to his 20 that I rode. The guy rips and bleeds red. Riding his 20 is what made me want to get the new Honda.

No honda is not using up old inventory. They are producing 20's as 21's. They knew they couldn't produce new 21's at the speed and demand required. Honda's lack of support and ability to stock motorcycles is a joke.

Read the article, it says mapping/ECU and suspension changes...the two things the 21 needed the most...the two things that probably held it back from shootouts wins

Depends what tinted glasses you have on I suppose.... I see the 20's as a cheaper priced option rather than an unability to support/stock the bikes

I find it laughable that anyone could find any modern 450 to be a piece of shit.

More options the better. I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn’t April fools.

This is awesome on Honda's part..I'm not a "Honda guy", but I really like these new CRs, and kudos for offering a lower price option....Doesn't it seem a bit early for the '22 models? I'm not complaining, but I thought it was usually April/May before seeing new releases

Suzuki has been selling 2022 models since 2018 so not that early.

I will say that its pretty interesting that Honda can sell the same machine $700 dollars cheaper than the 2019 model and presumably still make a profit.

I guess when you look at the big picture it's kind of the same thing KTM has done with the GasGas.

I wonder what makes the R so much more expensive to produce than the R-S that creates the $1000 difference in price.

The R&D and tooling for the R-S is paid off

Ahh, that's giving too much credit to honda.. I really think they've got a shit load of that era frame and all the extra parts on shelves and they're burning it up this way..

I just know that you helped me with settings on a 15 250sx and I really liked it.. and now I have this bike and really like it.. I think with the way you build and set your bikes up, if you did the same to a honda that youve done to all your austrian bikes, you'd have one sick ass honda that performs exceptionally well..

yeah I guess my honda DSM is a liar. Straight from the horses mouth on this one. No doubt it is cheaper but that's just an externality.

What makes you think that it has to be more expensive to produce?

The price difference doesn’t need to be based on production costs, it’s more likely based on perceived demand.

Good point. You’d think if anything, the R-S would be more expensive to build just based on the dual exhaust system alone.

So? If they are affordable and get the job done, what does it matter.

A 2006 yz 125/250 will still be cooler than a 2021 crf450 in 2030.

You and your buddy are not in agreement with professional test riders. The off mapping and soft valved suspension crushed the ‘21 in shootouts, noted, but those reviews came with a lot of caveats and Honda dealers will remap for free (as they should).

If you listen to what they say, especially with those areas corrected, you will hear that it is a better bike than the previous model. Ol’ Kroc doing pretty good on it too.

White number plates...hopefully this is a sign that all the manufacturers came to their senses and put white backgrounds on their plates next year

Just watched MXA video of Tony Alessi going over McElraths bike. He said 3 of 4 on the team ride the 2020 and only Friese is on the 2021. Says 2021 is better but due to parts supply and demand they are running the 2020. Don’t want to miss a race due to no radiator. Just passing on what he says in the video.

Every bike that comes off the production line is cheaper than the one that came off before it.
