I’m looking to reduce the engine braking on a 20KX450 (while upgrading the Clutch) and would like the ability to reduce the engine braking from stock when needed.
Rekluse says by changing the red springs to blue you can reduce the braking, then change back to the red springs if you want to increase it.
Hinson’s slipper clutch model’s primary function is to reduce the engine braking, however MXA claims you can’t slip the clutch (by lever) when needed. Both manufacturers state their clutch reduces the braking, but neither were able to offer if one has an advantage over the other.
Does anyone have any experience with either clutch that could offer feedback between the two ?
Thanks!

I have had 6 slipper clutches. A Yoyo-Dyne in a Cannondale 440. 3 Hinson BTLs in KTM 450/525s, a BTL in a YFZ450 ATV, and a BTL in my current KTM 350 XCF. You could slip all of them completely normally. I've red that article several times and have never understood that statement as it is flat incorrect.
I'm a big fan of the BTL though, as you can probably tell. If you want to reduce the engine braking, it does a VERY good job of that that. It made my 350 front end feel light and flowy off-throttle, a lot like my 300 2T and makes switching back and forth between the 2 bikes a lot easier.
WS728 is very accurate with his post!!
