If Reed hangs around long enough maybe all the other contenders will retire and/or get injured. Maybe that's his grand plan?

But seriously. If Dungey retires only an injury can stop Tomac. No one else could beat him on consistency... no one else is consistent and no one else is nearly as quick. Roczen might have been. But that injury surely ruined that.

Wow you Dungey fan boys are something else. Hate on Tomac for going for it. Guess we should all hate on Osborne as well. Surprised you guys didn't kill yourselves when Reed and stew went at it every single weekend.

2017 Tomac can't get the job done even with Roczen out

Fortunately for Tomac Dungeys gone and Roczen won't be the same. He'll be able to get his title now.
10 wins technically

Eli wouldn't shut up about the three points that everyone knew did not matter, Stew and Reed was Reed trying to dive bomb Stew cause he couldn't keep up most of the time.

the comment was a move to get in dungeys head. Tomac tried to play to dungeys comments about winning this title straight up and not having any help all season.

"Everyone knew the three points wouldn't matter"... I guess they shouldn't have raced then, just gave dungey the championship. did you watch the 250 main? Anything can happen. Hindsight is always 20/20.

What else was Eli meant to do, bend over and take it up the arse like most of the others? Fuck that, he gave us a finale we have craved for years, thanks Eli for putting it out there and trying to do what it takes. Congrats on Ryan for being the most consistent guy all year.

I just thought it was shitty the way Tomac got all vitriolic about what MM supposedly did then races like he did. Total bitch move. If he had the integrity he claims to have he would have ran away from RD1 and "let the chips fall where they may" But Eli didn't, Eli needed his teamamte to help him try to win the championship, no different than RD1. The difference is that they sucked at it, Eli is not as smart or as good as Dungey, yes he is damn fast this year but mentally Dungey is far superior to Tomac.

Tomac may win the outdoor this season, he has the speed. His issue has always been staying off the ground and mental mistakes/meltdowns. That has never been Dungeys issue. Lots of riders ended up on the ground/hospital trying to prove they are faster than Dungey. None have had the consistent speed Ryan has had over his 11 year career.

Now that's the way to put it. Valid points and I agree.

His strategy was solid and he didnt go too far. He could have put Dungey on the ground. I thought he did a great job at showing respect for Dungey and trying to win the title.

It was all or nothing. Guys like Ricky Carmichael. Chad Reed and James Stewart wouldn't have hesitated to go for the kill in that position.

Tomac played it way too safe. He was clearly faster. Playing cat and mouse trying to get Dungey to fall. He should have been more aggressive with how much faster he was.

"Woulnd't shut up about" it? He brought it up once in a press conference, and said he hoped it didn't come down to those three points. Funny how you hype it up in your own mind to get yourself all giddy.

He brought it up more than once, look it up. He was whining to Hollywood about it as well.

The difference being that Rc, rv, etc, would have put dungey in the dirt. Et did not. If you are gonna take someone out to win the championship, you take them out, not just run them high three freakn times.

We're watching dirt bike racing and expecting everyone to be total gentlemen. All things considered, everyone was way more polite than they needed to be. Tomac's strategy seemed to be not to park dungey, but to hold both of them up a little so they could get passed by a few guys and then Tomac could hustle to the front in a way that dungey couldn't. It didn't pay off, but it was some true racecraft. One of those rare occasions where The fastest guy on the track doesn't just go out and run away in first, but actually takes the race to his primary competitor. Whatever your opinion on the racers, you have to appreciate that you were treated to a night of great racing and a season that will go down among the most dramatic in sx history.

Tomac could have Osborned, Dungey if he wanted to. Anyone who thinks EVERY pro out there isn't capable of successfully putting someone in the dirt is an idiot. He played a tactical but not overly dirty strategy. It just didn't work for him in the end.

True! their wouldn't be enough tissue in the world for some of these guys if they watched races back in the 80s and early 90s Laughing

I really don't care about what Tomac was doing either way, in fact it made for an exciting race. But there was a huge difference between that and the Osborne situation. Osborne was trying his hardest the whole race saw his opportunity in the last turn and grabbed it. There is no similarity whatsoever in the two scenarios.

I'm good with zack and Eli. They both only had one option and one worked and one almost did. Congrats Ryan and Zack. Eli will be just fine.
