At about 2:35 in the video. If I ever accidentally came into a corner that fast, I would just be looking for the softest place to land! And obviously there are no soft spots at that track.
That dude can ride more than just sand.
If he would just hop across the pond, he and ol' Chupecabra could have some good times.

One thing the GPs have that the AMA series no longer has is track variety. Even tracks that used to be like that track like Hangtown have been turned into 3 foot deep disc tracks. The AMA needs a couple REAL sand tracks (Southwick aint it) and a couple real hardpack tracks like Saddleback and Carlsbad used to be.

I dont think Herlings would dominate over here, at least not at first, but he could, Bayle did it before and Herlings could too. The thing is, we will never know because he will never come over here and race full time. A flip side of that coin is, I have always thought that riders like RC and currently RV, should go race the GPs for 2 years after they retire from AMA racing and try to take a couple World titles, but they never do. I think the AMA series is a lot tougher than the GPs, but until our riders, nothing against guys like Jimmy Albertson or Leib, but until our Champs go over there and win titles we cant really criticize the GP riders for not coming over here.

agree wit the tracks , would love to see a couple of hard pack tracks on series , wats so wrong wit hard pack , i always felt it made for great racing , weird ever since the 4 strokes came the tracks are all disc s , and its way easier ride hard pack on a 4 stoke , than a 2 stroke , ,

I said it before and I'll say it again there's nobody on the planet that could come and take a GP title off the boy, especially the way he recently demolished even Kenny by a minute in the sand (let alone the rest),whereas Roczen pushed him at Valkensvaard a couple of years ago,the guy amazes me more than anyone has ever done before
If kenny would go back to the GPs I think he would beat Herlings still(But I think JH84 would give him a good run for it). Just as I think Kenny would beat Baggett and Tomac if they were to come over

What we need to do is have two AMA races also be the USGPs and run them together with AMA and GP racers, lets say Unadilla and Hangtown because they are probably the most different of our tracks. Run qualifying like an AMA race but with AMA and GP racers, top 40 make the show just like now and you get points for your series for your place just like if it was a regular race. It will be tough on the AMA privateers because for every top GP guy they will bump out a lower AMA Pro. Of course, at least for the first year, the AMA riders would have the track advantage, but guys like Herlings wont be at a disadvantage long.

I know this will NEVER happen, but I can dream cant I? How cool would it be to see the AMA and GP guys race each other, and since they will be racing for points in their respective series they would be going 100%.

WOW, that video was amazing! The "World" Champ practicing on a track with a bunch of beginners and quad riders... ugh yeah, he does "look" fast.

I hope that's sarcasmBlink ....cause he's wicked fast. I'd love to see El Chup' and Herlings race in the US summertime heat, that would be awesome.

He is fast, riding on a concrete hardpack track like that, and what Saddleback/Carlsbad were, is a specialty skill just like sand riding. Anyone can rail through turns WFO with a perfectly disc'd track. Just as now where you can see a local Southwick specialist, or some of those local guys that really fly at Washougal, there were Saddleback/Carlsbad specialists that could place top 10 at a National, but only at those tracks. I think it would be great for both the AMA series and the GPs if the riders had to race each other more than just at the MXdN each year.

Have to disagree there,I knew Herlings had moved to an amazing level in the sand but clips like this prove just how versatile he is,he's matured as a rider and seems unfazed by anything too, anyhow we can all speculate but on any given day there sure would be some great races between these 2,Marvin,Baggett and Tomac etc eh!
