that is nowhere in the realm of SX. Not being a hater either, but it is simply an indoor MX track. Only similarity to SX is that it is small and indoors. SX obstacles are gnarly, peaky, and contain whoop sections that are like a row of coffins to traverse. Again, not hating on JH84, as I wish he would expand his horizons and come race MX and SX here in America, but we all know that is not in his 5 year plan to break Evert's records. Too bad, really.
Answered my own question (from an old article in 2014) So he is already 3rd.

the track preview doesn't really show any whoops at all lol. Maybye a few "rollers" at best.
Agreed, hell the FIM or Dorna, whomever is responsible for GP rules, outlawed doubles some time ago! I don't think that is still the case (please correct me if I am wrong), but c'mon, no doubles in MX? That would be like, ummm..... SX without whoops.....
He doesnt ride Supercross, and wont race supercross, because he cant.
Before you all freak out at me read his interview in Transworld a couple months back. Said himself that every time hes tryed to ride sx he crashes and he doesnt enjoy it.

Well the manufacturers cup is exactly like that and that's what he's training for.

Can't jump too high on anything on that track, you'll bonk your head on the ceiling. On a serious note, I could easily ride that track, and I'm old......Looks like fun though:-)
Herlings was like a fair few European youngsters, saying a few years ago he wanted to go to the US and race SX. It's a common thing - they grow up seeing SX, and want to do it. They see the enormous success of a few fellow Euros- hell percentage wise they get further than most US pros do - the easier life of one language , a (effectively) monoculture, and racing in Stadiums instead of the countryside, and want a bit of that.
Herlings went to the US, found the SX type of track, and the lifestyle not to be for him. So, he decided to do MX in the World Motocross Championships, and other National series. So bloody be it. That many don't like his decision, well grow the fuck up.
I find him a bit of a twat with his ambitions to become the winningest GP rider ever, by so many being MX2 wins, but I actually like how he seems to have now no interest in the Circus that is SX. I'm the same. I watch every SX round, eventually, but it's so far behind MX in my interest, as to be almost as disinteresting to me as 'normal' ball sports.
Each to his own preference, and SX appears not to be one of Herlings. Good on him. He's just doing some practise in an indoor track. One assumes it might have been more pleasant indoors that day - I've found places , around the World, when it's far nicer to be indoors, than Outdoors. Hell, it even happens here in OZ, every now and then.....
