Yeah I hope so for my own selfish mx fan reasons haha! Just hope he doesn't rush and heals up properly. No hate in this American fan for Herlings I was so excited to see him on the track again

Hindsight is 20/20, and of course he could have been injured here as well, but I have to think Nationals would've been the call to make. Bummer

Stop going on about this.. he raced his first race last weekend. What makes you think he would be fit to ride the nationals? Jumping in in a new class and tracks midseason? That would be a terrible choice.

Anyway, ktm team manager says its a microfracture.

Not sure what a micro fracture is exactly, but that photo shows a joint bone that is broken clear in half.

Just imagine if he signed up for a national and this happened.... which is possible. It would send the masses into chaos.

He isn’t 16 anymore. It’s like any other sport with athletes starting young. Can’t throw fast balls your entire career. It
catches up to them. But I’m sure he will be fine.

Herlings cannot catch a break.

Wish him a healthy recovery.

Herlings makes it sound like he tipped over in a corner and one of his rivals roosted over him. He ate shit trying to scrub a jump and is lucky Jasikonis? didnt plow right into him.

Video on youtube.

Why are you guys saying he should have signed up for nationals? He would not have been ready, or even close to it. He got all the lucky breaks it
seemed starting at the end of 17 through 18 and now he can’t buy luck. Tim has taken all of that.

Yup, JA had no idea he was even down there.

Talk about not owning up to a screw up. Get well soon.

This! Gutted for Herlings but he was very lucky to get away with a broken ankle. I could see a hundred scenarios with worse outcome when I saw him pick the bike up right on the landing, in a blind spot. I am talking 2008 Mike Alessi shit.
What a stud to win that moto too!

Herlings is quickly becoming the James Stewart of the GP's; fastest guy out there but crashes out with injuries. Rinse/repeat. Get well, soon.
