This may be old news but did anybody catch Herlings' comments about Everts in the post race interview? My interpretation of the situation is that Sewer (Suzuki) got close to Herlings in moto #2 and Herlings accused Everts (Suzuki boss) of trying to take him out. Then he says he doesn't like Everts and is out to break Everts' records. That was my take on it. Please correct me if I missed something. It starts at about 3:56

So does Herlings break Everts' records? What do you think?

if he stays in the overly-competitive MX2 class for another 13 years then yeah, he'll break Everts' records

I say no way he touches Everts' records. Pretty big talk for a kid with a punk attitude who crashes too much to win what should have been a couple of gravy titles. Just my opinion, of course.

Everytime I start to like him he comes off like a typical Dutch A hole and I remember why I don't like him at all!

Hope he doesn't jinx himself talking like that, reminds me of the "stewable" talk a few years ago. I know is good being self confident but being humble is also a must. Look at Ryan Dungey always talking race by race, not thinking about records, etc.. Also Cairoli and Everts... The races in mx2 are doing no good to Herlings as he doesn't get competition or pressure, as they say if you want to get faster or be better you have to train with the best and race with the best, He is not used to pressure and I don't think In mxgp guys are going to move over.

Let's just hope to great racing in all sx MX and mxgp !!

In order to outdo Everts he will need 7 more World Titles, win more titles than Cairoli, etc. How many of Everts' wins were 125 and how many 250/MX1?

Win's are cool and all but I'd rather have a World Championship ring for every finger.

Everts raced 125 and 250 from 1991 till 1998 ...1991 only year on a 125 if my info is correct ...
in these years he won about 25 to 30 GP's ...
his best year was his last year 2006 , winning almost all GP's that year

Interesting side fact; Everts his total GP wins number is kinda special in a sense that somewhere during the mid 2000's the GP classes (250 / 450 / 650 i think) all rode just 1 moto. Everts that year decided a few rounds into the series that he wanted to race more then 1 moto on race day so he raced both 250 & 450. Effectively gaining 2 GP wins every GP for quite allot of rounds that season.

He ended the season by winning 3 GP's on 1 day as a special thing trying to win all 3 classes that year.

No discredit to his stats at all, but this kinda made him stack up some extra wins that would be impossible now.

29x MX1
9x MotocrossGP (MX1)
37x 250 (MX1)
13x 125 (MX2)
1x 650 (MX3)
12x 500 (MX3)

so only 13 on the lites bike (including the 8 venues (in 2003) where he collected more then 1 win a day (racing MX2 + MXGP (and one time also MX3)

hard to compare when these days you only have MX2 and MXGP ...
basically those days 125 and 250 were lites ,the 500 was the big class ..2 stroke period
the counter says 50 wins for 125/250 ...

Stairway to Glory taught me all I need to know about Everts.

The Treble isn't realistically possible anymore. Until Herlings wins a GP in a 1 piece suit it's a moot point anyway. Maybe he should go for some EMX300 wins. Cool

It's funny how Everts is in Herlings head even without Stefan riding out there ... The day Herlings will face a real competitor he will not be able to handle it mentally. It was already so and so with Searle while Searle does not have the talent / raw speed as a Roczen or Dungey.

I think it would be better if Herlings would take some courses on "how to keep my mouth shut". What an idiot ... The guy can ride but that's it. Other than that he is just a douchebag. He is the only person in the world who taught Seewer was trying to clean him out Dry

The 250 class was the premier class from the very early 90's onwards. Even though there was still a 500 class, the 250 class was the one people wanted to win.

The emphasis switched to the 250s in 92. That's when the manufacturer's started to consider the 250 class the "premier" class.
