Man.....Herlings is a total badass. I was just thinking about how he rode with his broken femur. Who does that? He still tried. Kind of reminds me of the old days.......

Feel bad for him. Seems like almost everytime he hit the deck he gets injured.

Not to bash on Gasjer or turn this thread into him, but if you see his crashes over the years and always is able to stand up and finish the race is really special

I really hope he recovers well from this injury and we will see him back behind the gate in 2021...

Dudes so fast. Gnarly when he’s gnarly and even gnarlier when he bounces off the ground....

Do the GPs have a designated doctor that travels to all the races? Someone with a postition similar to Dr. Bodnar in the US?
There is a Doc/small haspital every race.
He can dicide if a rider can complete the race or not.

He also raced with a broken hand at the start of his first 450 season in 2017. And internet heroes told him on social media that he was a fluke in 250 and something like "welcome to the big boy class". Sometimes the mx community/fanbase is really weird.
This guy is an absolute machine. Comes back from any injury and starts dominating again after a couple races.
I'm really happy that he is okay.. Gosh I can't even imagine crashing at his pace.

He is a true legend to the sport, but history won't say the same , I see him doing a 150 gp wins at least but he will be lucky to get 6 titles the amount of time he spends broken.
Such a shame for such a talented rider.
Get well soon , sir Jeffrey.

What a bummer this is, guy sure seems to have some bad luck. Hope he heals up well and doesn’t try to rush back, would hate to see something more serious happen as a result of not waiting to properly recover (if that’s even a possibility).

Yeah Gajser probably crashes a little more often but sustains less injuries

Hope he gets well and takes the necessary time to heal! I injured my neck 3 years ago, not to the extent he did, and I can tell you they linger and become nagging problems if not treated properly.

He's like Tomac on steroids a little more often than Tomac on steroids. Love watching him ride sand or any surface really.

Guy is a machine. 90 GP will with “only” 4 WC’s. I say only because he’s lost a few through injuries. 2014, broken femur, 2015 multiple injures with a massive points lead. 2017, starts injured but half way through the season he’s on fire, catching Cairoli in points until the chain lets go in Sweden. 2019, we’ll never know. 2020, was looking good until Wednesday.

#2020isjustcharacterbuilding FRESH CRASH SETBACK DEALS SIMPSON A BITTER BLOW. . Shaun is again on the recovery path for 2020 after a late practice accident at the Lommel circuit in Belgium on Wednesday. . The former British Champion was attempting his first training moto after suffering with head and neck problems sustained in the third Grand Prix of the season when disaster struck. Simpson crashed and broke two thoracic vertebrae as well as fracturing and displacing the little finger on his left hand. After being hospitalised and examined, doctors believed the back injury should be able to heal without surgery but a procedure will be required for the SS24 KTM rider’s finger. . “It’s tough to find the words at the moment,” Shaun said from the hospital ward in Overpelt . “It was my first proper outing to see if I felt OK on the bike and could consider returning to MXGP in Mantova when I just got caught and landed on my head. I actually felt the two bones in my back crunch and my hand and finger as well. I’m having surgery tomorrow and I have support for my back. My first thoughts are to get well and to leave the hospital but it is impossible not to think how frustrating this is for my racing and for the new project with the team. Right now, all I can do is thank my sponsors, my partners and all the fans and people that follow me. This is another delay but we’ve been here before and will come back.” . A further update on Shaun’s condition will soon be published on the website and through his social media channels.

Hope he is ok, but man it seems as though he’s always getting hurt some how. I guess that’s price you pay when you can ride that fast.
