Herlings is still going to be in MX2 in 2017? Wow, VitalMX stock just went up.

The article talked about him making his MXGP debut on a Honda but he's contracted with KTM through 2017 which alludes to him riding MX2 again next year. Whether or not there is any truth to it I have no idea nor do I really care but I can't help but think of this anytime I hear about the kid...

in his 2nd year herlings has the option to move up to mxgp if he wishes so. it was said that the decision is entirely up to jeffrey and not ktm's.
I'm pretty sure he regrets staying in mx2 this year already, so there is very little chance we will see him in mx2 next year unless he will get hurt again.

This photo is perfect.. It sure looks like Cairoli has crossed over his peak. KTM would be idiots to push this out another year. KTM fans (and the rest of the world) have been waiting at least 2-3 years for this. If by chance Herlings does move on to another brand during / before the move to the 450s, KTM missed that marketing wonder big time.

Tony just resigned with his own team through 2018. I don`t see Herlings racing on Tony`s team. So, another MX2 year, brand new KTM team or Honda.

He won't be on Tony's team as such. He'll stay in the MX2 side of the team on a 450. Rather than being in the De Carli side

That`s bullshit considering it`s Herlings. He`ll be a side show on a 250 team. When Tomac decided to stick with Geico, only thing that was left was graphics. He was basically living in HRC. And you wonder why would Herlings leave. Tony is calling the shots at KTM. I doubt Herlings will be ok with such a treatment.

he is right. here a interview with pit beirer where exactly that says and also confirms that herlings will have the say about mxgp or mx2. this interview is about the 2016 season but it will be no different to 2017 then as well one should think.

Stefan Everts Suzuki team? That will never ever happen. JH84 would probably rather quit than riding under him again if we believe the rumors and Everts would never hire him.

Next year will be his 8th year InMX2! 2010-2017 That's nuts!

Herlings will stay at KTM. Stamp it. He already said a long time ago that he can stay under the MX2 tent if he moves up to MXGP. So he doesn't have to go to Tony's team.

That means in 2018 he still rides mx2?

No. It means that he will stay with the MX2 guys and in their program but on a 450 or 350 in the MXGP class(similar system like the 450 rider on Geico Honda)

But i think that he will stay with KTM. I think KTM might be a bit worried by Tonys last year and now there is a Febvre and a Gajser that is clearly a level above him at the moment. Herlings going to Honda would be a HUGE blow for KTM.

I think the results speak for themselves, Herlings is really confortable where he is and if he wins the title they will just have to put a 350 or 450 in that chassis.

OMG I hope he doesn't even consider the 350 anymore. He's riding the 450 fine. There's no need to put himself in a bad position due to a bad start.

Yeah, Tony has really improved going from the 350 to the 450....

It's not so much about improvement on the riding part, but he seems to be more consistent at the front from the beginning of the races.
A couple years ago he was fine, but then he got into trouble at the starts more and more.

Btw, what's going on at Yamaha, are they on the 400s? Seems like they're "struggling" out of the gate.

What's his beef with the Italian stallion? Tony seems like a nice guy. You would think he would want to be teammates with a legend...get some pointers maybe.

Herlings probably weighs like 20 kg more than Tony
He needs every single pony he can possibly get

There's no beef but it's hard to have two team members who are both battling for the championship. Kinda like Dungey and Roczen at KTM back in 2014. It just doesn't work.

Since the mini ordeal with Herlings basically cost Everts his job at KTM...and since Everts has basically, more than once, called Herlings a jerk...I seriously doubt that either party could tolerate the other.

Seems like the cairoli's camp having all the say about the mxgp class is hampering things
Id be pissed if I was jh84, seems like they've been holding him back since lommel mxon when they saw the future
