Didn't Roger himself pretty much say it isn't happening in an interview on Raceday Live in Denver? Anything's possible, but that chance sounds pretty damn slim now, especially with RD and Cairolli confirmed

FWIW, in the denver recap Matthes puts out, Steve says Roger told him the heel is bad, even mentioned additional surgery. Weege gave a counter point that, it is still possible Herlings will do whatever he wants, and if he chooses to come, nobody will stop him.

Until there is a report that says he is 100% not doing it, I'm still going to hold out hope that he will come. Something is telling me that Jeffrey really wants to come to the US. He has an incredibly competitive spirit

I think he does want to come badly. He’s a true competitor and wants to prove he’s the best in the world. He’s the kind of guy who will come with no excuses attached what so ever. But with that being said, he’s got a very smart team around him and they will most likely convince him to not come if he’s not ready. I would fully expect him to hit a few races later in the season when he is healthy though.

Pit holds the pocket book. If he says "no" and won't pay...I'd say it ain't gonna happen. Of course, Jeff is a big boy and he could say f-you and privateer it...but I doubt it.

He wouldn’t put his career in jeopardy to come here, if KTM says no. He’s under contract to race the MXGP’s, unless KTM agrees to let him change that.

I hope he ends up here, but only if he’s healthy. Sounds like there’s a good chance he may need another surgery to fix the heel.
That heel ain’t going to heal well if he’s racing on Saturday’s and trying to practice during the week.

I thought when DeCoster was interviewed either in the timed qualifying show he said JH got on the bike and it did not feel good and he may need more surgury. Sounds like the article was based off of him not on the bike yet???

I don’t think he said anything about him riding yet.

Pit Beirer: "Jeffrey (Herlings) will be back on the bike for the first time tomorrow. On Tuesday we will meet in Mattighofen, Austria to discuss his future. We want to do the riding test first and then decide what to do. If Jeffrey is fit, we have a plan to send him to America to race the AMA Nationals."

Not sure of the hierarchy but I thought Pit was the main man.

He’s definitely the guy making decisions there.

Glad to see you took a break from standing up for Webb to get in a shot at Tomac. You won't have much to root for this summer with your favorite rider giving up before the season even starts.

Man I hope this happens. Fingers crossed they all race well enough to want to continue past the first rounds and make a full season of it. I’m 100% not missing a chance to see this in person.

Hell, if his heel heals, he'll be here because his heel healed, then he'll heal the disappointment of not being able to race the GP"s because his heel wasn't healed in time..

Herlings is a savage. I can 100% see him lining up on the gate at Pala even if it hurts like hell and he has to ride with a numb foot.

Hope he races even if he's not 100% it will be great to watch, If Tomacs SX season is anything to go by we might have the chance to see Tomac's best MX season this year and I think it will be very hard for anyone to be near him including Ferrandis and Herlings.

Tomac has never been at his best on Kawi he was better on Honda, it will be exciting stuff to see him on the Yammy.

Yeah Ferrandis was amazing last year but Tomac's best (honda) is better than that.

Has everyone forgotten Tomac admitted to having a knee injury? What are he changes he won't be 100% for the Outdoor Nationals? Or sits out himself to get it fixed! That might make Webb think again about that new couch...

I thought Tomacs injury was like a sprained meniscus (something like that) that should get better with some rest. No surgery is needed. I think I read that on another thread on Vital though, so.... Now if he is off the bike for another week or two that will have some impact for sure. I understand he did not ride between races for the last couple of supercross rounds?

If Herlings can't be 100% maybe he looks over and sees that Tomac is also not quite 100% either, so what the heck, lets give it a shot over here. Maybe they are both a little off the pace the first few rounds. Of course Ferrandis and Sexton should also be really fast, not sure where Dungey, Cairoli and Anderson slide in.

Guessing Herlings decision may be a little bit out of his hands though if his doctor comes back and says he needs another surgery or it is just too painful to ride. The guy is an insane competitor though.
