Seen in gatedrops interview that there are rumors of 84 moving up this coming season. Anyone know yet if this is going to happen? I think it would be a good Move for KTM with cairoli getting older and losing the title this year, It doubles their chances of winning the title in '16.
If it does happen I think Jeffery will be the champion.

Ktm have jonass and pootjes in the 250 who have quite good title chances (jonass next year and pootjes in the future)
I d love to see it but I can not see Coldenhoff in the top 3 consistently
So IMO it would be a smart move for ktm to have herlings move up (not even considering how long he has been in the class)

Herlings said on Facebook:
I'm hoping MXGP, would be strange if he stays MX2 when Gajser is moving up. But then again, he has had two seasons destroyed by serious injury so I can see the logic if he stays, but to me that would give Gajser the advantage once Herlings does move to MXGP.
If he moves up that will be three MX2 champs moving up at once, plus Guillod and BT, and all can run at the front. It could be epic if everyone stays healthy.
Btw does anybody know more about the Gajser deal? I thought he goes over to race some supercross in january to prepare because he plans to race there fulltime soon. His switch to the 450 doesnt really make sense to me now

I hope he decides to ride MXGP, nothing much to prove in MX2 and no real contenders.
If his former contenders (30 seconds back actually) start winning MXGP-championships, it makes you think....
But if he wants to stay in MX2, fine by me. He is allowed to do so, and as long as it is allowed i'm fine with it. And it's not that in the past riders stayed away from the premier class for whatever reason.
* Eric Geboers stepped down from the premier class (500cc at the time) because he wanted a 250cc title
* Tony Cairoli had won 2 titles and finished 2nd and 3rd overall in MX2 and still came back to try to win a 3rd title in 2008.
* Alessio Chiodi finished 2nd overall in 1994 in 125cc and was still in 125cc in 1999 (when he won his 3rd title). He finally moved to a different class.... 125cc in the USA...
* Joel Smets had won 3 titles in 500cc and still did not move to the premier class at that time (250cc).
* Stefan Everts moved out of the premier class after 2 injured seasons in 2001
etc. etc.
I figure Herlings will step up to the MX1 class for 2017, as TC222 is taking his last shot at a title. I believe Cairoli will again be the MX1 World Champion in 2016...and possibly even 2017. I like Febvre, and he's damn fast...but he dominated a field without Cairoli being 100% through it all.
Herlings might have started young but he is still by far the most experienced rider in the class. He has won two titles, swept the series, and been the preseason favorite by a mile for the past 5-6 years. 10+ top riders have moved up from MX2 to the premier MX1 or to the U.S. since he became the dominate MX2 rider. Including the current MX2 champ.
