250 looks great... can't help but think they are screwing themselves with a kickstart though for many potential customers however. Will something like this attract new buyers or just the loyalists? How long before they are discounted?

All the 450s are more than enough for me. I've been on KTM since 2001 when they weren't even cool. But, the Zooks are very pretty. I like it. And about half the price of my FE. Crazy.

The Estimated arrival at dealers date of February 2019 for the 250 is going to really hurt sales.

Stoked for the new 250. Love my '18 450. I look forward to the challenge of kickstarting the bike every time and feel I have grown as a person from having gone through this trial.

Nope, the 48mm AOS fork.

The Suzukis look awesome. Too bad that it looks that the biggest flaw of the old 250 is still there with this new one, the engine seems to be the same as the old one.

There must be something different about the 250 engine because the exhaust now comes out in the center of the frame cradle as opposed to previous models that came out the right side. My guess would be same/similar bottom end and new topend. I would guess they are waiting on bottom end/case changes for when they are ready to put Estart on it.

Why would they not use the 49mm? Certainly that is a selling point. Late intro and into dealers, can't help but think this will be a limited run year.

Because they contracted KYB for the RM-Z250 and in this case, it gets them away from using Showa's BFRC like on the 450 which was not a well excepted item in last year's Shootouts.

Edit- couldn't they have spec'd a different Showa shock or is it a Suzuki BFRC thing?

The lateness has to do with the factory change over in Japan.

Three things about the suspension: One, the RM-Z250 was already using KYB, albeit an air fork. The contract could've still been in place.

Second, variety: Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda have regularly had a bike on both KYB and Showa to have range of development.

Third, admitting it wasn't a great idea: If they specced the Suzuki RM-Z250 with Showa without the BFRC shock, what does that say about the 450? It's kind of like admitting it wasn't a great idea.

When the 2019 Suzuki Motocross bikes were unveiled in Japan it caused all 2,000 employees and press on hand to spontaneously yawn. The resulting abrupt change in air pressure inside the building caused a partial collapse of the warehouse roof. 4 people died.. the event will be chronicled in the soon to be released documentary "Bored to death" the Story of the 2019 Suzuki line up..

I think that the "kit" forks that people can buy through Technical Touch or Enzo are AOS, not SSS?
