Actually this is the correct tool to torque your sprocket bolts as well as cylinder stud nuts that are not accessible with a standard socket. MAC tools sells the 12mm version.
You are welcome.

100% chain too tight at some point. Failed countershaft sprocket is a dead giveaway

Agree. Too much friction from hex bolt side to get a proper torque reading.
I started installing new bolts kit in case there is any fatigue in the bolt material. When I've had loose bolts they seem to always get loose again.

If they come loose once and wear the holes in the hub out even a little, it's really hard to ever get them to not come loose again. Had this happen on a 05 crf450 of mine, we tried everything and never did get them to stay tight. Eventually they came loose and my hub exploded, destroyed everything but the rim and swingarm. Was lucky enough to only break my helmet visor after going over the bars. We've always ran Talon hubs and have never had any problem with them plus they look damn good.

To hell with checking the torque, next time weld them on!

With this, does the torque spec change?

Yes
It is a percentage of the overall length change.
My short 3/8" Snap On torque wrench I set 20% less than the spec.
