Looks flat across the top. Seems like that would lead to poor handling.

If I had to make an observation about handling from photos, it looks to me like the bike will push. The motor mass looks like it's so far back from the front wheel compared to the other bikes. But photos can be deceiving.

5 pounds lighter. If I bought one and lost 30 pounds it would be 35 pounds lighter…………..I think I did the math right!!

Took them a while, but they finally copied the TwinAir power flow air filter.

That front number plate is trash.

How much do the KTM's weigh in comparison?
Probably pretty similar if KTM lists their bikes without fuel and Yamaha lists theirs as “wet weight”. We’ll have to wait and see until one outlet can weigh them all equally.

Not that it really matters anyway, the heavier model still beat the lighter KTM in shootouts years prior. But props for still trying to push the “blue pig” agenda.

Most wet weights are without fuel. They consider wet weight with engine oil, fork oil and coolants. Basically ready to ride except gas.

You are a sensitive one....I"m not trying to push the blue pig agenda as I witnessed the blue pig die in Anaheim. People simply want to know how close it is to the lightest bike out there.

Thought it looked a little funky at first but after seeing them back to back like this it’s growing on me…

Japanese wet weight includes fuel. KTM does not.

I think the new bike looks great. The old version was long in the tooth and long overdue for a makeover. Comparing them side by side the new one looks much better.

What is your guess at the KTM 450 wet weight?

‘23 450SXF is listed at 226lbs. Add 1.9 gallons of gas at 6lb/gal and you get 237lbs.

So ‘23 wet weights are:
KTM 450: 237 lbs
YZ 450: 240 lbs

The KTM holds .3 gallons more fuel, so subtract 1.8 lbs to match the YZ in fuel capacity.

Sounds like Yamaha did a great job then.

Interesting they copied the ktm clutch with Bellville spring and one piece basket but didn't go as far as kawi when they added hydro

Objectively better looking then the previous gen. ESP the back half of the bike. Shroud design is not very imaginative.

WoohooWoohooWoohoo So you two geniuses come up with a flat looking seat makes it handle poorly and also the bike will push just from looking at a picture. Just when you thought Vitards couldn't get any dumber you two have to raise the bar.
