Was hopping some of you ktm 250f guys could give some gear ratio suggestions. I’m running the stock 14/51 set up and finding myself in between second and third a lot, I’d like to get more use out of 3rd on the tighter sections.

I went to a 53 and love it. Does the trick for 2-3rd gear

I was thinking a 53 might be the move, was also thinking about going 1 down on front sprocket but that might take too much top away, do you find you can use third in most of the track and not bog with the 53

On a tight track it might bog for me, but i usually feel that's my fault. I seem to really like it. I'm running a MX12 tire with the 53. I have not messed with the front sprocket. As you know, That motor loves to be revved, so i didn't want to mess with the front.

Don’t go down in the front. It changes the chain angle and makes the rear suspension work harder kinda like putting it in a bind.

Yeah, I should have given keefer his credit. I went from 52 to 53 for sand per his information. I liked 53 the best. And the info on the front sprocket is correct. try not to mess with it and leave it stock. Keefer taught me that too.HEH
