Three digit prefix on the Vin tells the year and model.
Since no mention of a Vin and noticing the nice "stolen bike motif" paint job, we can presume it has been removed for lighter weight?

I too go with IT400 or possibly IT250. I had a 1976 IT400, 1977 IT175, and 1982 IT465. This looks 1976-79 era to me.
If you provide the 17 digit VIN number i can run it on YAMAHA's database for you

Look at the Canon hanging down off the back. That's gotta be 20% of the total bike weight!
Well just from the pic it looks like a 400 head and barrel instead of 250. My guess is a 77- 79 Year model.
