How long has that guy been on a 450? Dude is killing it.

I'm just watching the 2nd moto and he's just hit the deck but damm he's got some speed on that bike.

What surprised me the most was he looked more in control than on his 250.
Speed and consistency still there. Keeping his lap times within one second for almost whole race.

Next year should be a blast in MXGP. I switched to Watching AMA when Townley came across the pond but With the awesome coverage they now have, there's no reason I won't be watching both series.

As expected. He was faster then Anderson in the first moto too until he made the mistake and he was able to stand the pressure of Tony in the second one. Idk about lap times but he looked fit again yesterday.

Mmmm... I kinda think some of his injury dramas on the little bike might be due to pushing the thing so hard... lots of guys settle down on the 450, partly because you have to and also because you can. With his size, I bet he feels more comfortable going that fast on the big bike, can focus on technique and not just hammering shit.

I was wigging out about how different he looked.. Like he looked huge plus seemed to have a different style, I know he said he changed his style to suit the 450 cause he doesn't need to hang off the back of the thing but to change it so much, so quickly and still be so fast was crazy to me

When Tony made some ground on him, Herlings just dropped the hammer and left him in the dust for the remainder of the race.
It's quite obvious from his size, he's going to get more comfortable on the 450 than the 250. He's been too big for that 250 for quite a while.
I'm glad to see it, hopefully that and some of his recent interviews will stop all the hating he (undeservingly) attracts.

I believe Herlings has trained on the Factory 450 for about 10 days, he obviously rode a 450 more than that but not that serious just sometimes in between brakes or winters just to get back up to speed

The ride in the last race was awesome. There was some serious noise from the crowd when Tony was closing. He did really well to stay calm and pull away again

The way he slashed Andersons lead down in 2-3 laps was mighty impressive indeed, shame about that slip up but that's racing.

Its possible that he dominates even more in the 450 class.

The last Moto is the toughest of the weekend, he near holeshot from the outside pick but he settled into his groove and motored away for that win, roughest track of the day and fastest Moto too, that's pretty convincing really.

Apparently he wasn't totally into making what could be thought of as a debut 450 ride there because of so little time testing after the US races but he raced at Kester in the week between on it so thankfully it was enough for him and the fans.

Hard to doubt the guy now, next year should be great to watch in MX1

At the end of the race Jeffrey was doing 1.54sec laptimes while webb and Febvre was doing 1.57. Off course they were battleing that made them go a bit slower than they would if they were at a clear track. Still crazy fast by herlings and tony

Jeffrey is an incredible talent and although he will face formidable competition next year (I feel), he will certainly win his share of races. There are others that have adapted very quickly to the 450, Copper Webb is another imo. I'm reluctant to bring this up as it has been discussed many times and there just isn't an easy solution, but how fun would it be to see all the top riders compete head-to-head every week?

Just look at who wasn't there this weekend that I think most of us can agree are among the top riders in the world. Ken Roczen, Marvin Musquin, Ryan Dungey, Eli Tomac to name the most prominent individuals. I understand this will probably never happen, but how competitive would this be and how far could this cast of characters push each other?

Very true and France also deserves a lot of credit. I believe this is 3 in a row and Musquin is arguably one of the top three French riders and wasn't selected. They have a very strong team and deserve the success.

If MM25 is on this team it's not close, Paulin is a liability now.

Don't write him off until next year,he's been a different rider on Honda than he was on the KX450

France did have their B team, they had no choice using Paturel when Ferrandis was hurt but to actually choose Paulin over MM25 was a strange move.

Dude. As much as he hasn't been "himself" on the Honda, he has still done more than enough to win the last two Des Nations.

His push in moto 1 after going backwards middle of the moto behind Ferris and falling into Van Horbeek was amazing to get to 3rd.

Moto 2, gets a horrible start and gets back to 11th. Not amazing, but clearly not that bad, about in line with anyone else who got a shocking start, and they won.

With Marvin, it's over before Moto 3.

I have said that I don't think Herlings will be that fast or consistent in 2017 on the 450, I might end up eating my own words Sad Oh well at least I can admit I might be wrong Smile

He wont be winning most motos by around 60 sec any more but he is going to be winning a LOT. Finally where he belongs racing the best in his chosen racing series.
