AMA D14 Facebook showing a new parental consent form that must be notarized.
Oh, by the way, it has to be implemented for this weekend.
It applies only to situations when only one parent is present at sign up.
Good luck getting your ex and kid to the notary tomorrow before 5:00.

Sounds like someone got sued by the non-participating ex...

Parents using kids as pawns in their petty squabbles is high on my list of things that piss me off...

AMA District 14 Motocross Racing
18 hrs ·
ATTENTION ALL D14 MINOR RACERS AND PARENTS:
Starting this weekend AMA has required all minors to use a different form at the track for your kids. Please be patient it will take a minute or 2 longer to sign the riders up because of the new forms. Good news though you can now request a yearly card from AMA to sign-up your minor which will eliminate the every weekend hassle. Please read below and follow these steps for the yearly minor card.
The following link will take you to the annual release forms (“Annual Liability Release”): http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/…/risk-management-and-w…. Both Adult and Minor releases are listed on this page. The release needs to be printed in color, one page front & back, completely filled out, with both parents and the rider’s signatures. This form should be notarized, unless filled out at an event in front of an AMA official. The rider’s membership needs to be current through December 31st before the card will be issued. Once completed, the form should be sent back to AMA.:

Looks like it is the AMA and not just D14. I think the AMA really wants to push the Annual minor release which is the one that requires notarization or to be viewed by an AMA official at time of signature.

It may not be as bad as I read, our D14 rep Kreg Bigelow says it is not a big deal, the notarized form is for an annual release. Just hope they don't need both parents at sign up.

It says notarized if not filled out in person in front of an AMA official.

This is an ongoing problem in all activities, Dad or Mom takes little Johnny to play baseball , Johnny breaks leg and the other parent sues because they didn't consent to Johnny being there.

How do you get a deceased ex/partner signature? Are people expected to bring death certificates with them as proof? Huh
