It looks horrific, but it wasn't that bad, just loads of surface water, track was rolled and sealed so it didn't get deep, I have raced there in far worse when it was prepped to perfection, and then rained overnight.

It snowed there yesterday...

Hawkstone just seems a bit lacking, without Barry Turnbull out there on an ( at least) over 30 years old CR500.

In '17, it was an '87( and, he was the Only Honda in the MXGP class that year), in 88 he was on an 89( I think).

I tried to find the picture of him pushing his 87 through the staging area, and the looks on the faces of Paulins Husky mechanics - it was priceless - , but I just can't find them.

Good to see Simpsons results - I hope he has a great year!
I took that photo... il have a look for it...

Thanks for that, Sidecar. Saved this one in a few folders, now.

There were a few pictures of his Push Through The Pits, and they showed a fair bit of bemused reaction from Riders and Mechanics. You can see Paulin, his Mechanic, and Anstie's Mechanic (and Race Photographer) having a bit of a squizz at the Dinosaur going by, there. I think Bazza got caught up in big prang (Simpson / Searle?, and others, involved) early on in '17.
