I have a buddy in his mid-70's who spent most of his life racing moto. He quit racing about 10 years ago due to his bad shoulders, elbows, knees, etc. These days he still rides adventure bikes and dual sport bikes for fun.

On the weekend he was re-organizing his shop and gave me a box full of carb jets and suspension shims plus a few other odd items. Check out this sweet all-plastic clutch perch and lever assembly:

You could buy those at any Kmart or discount store back in the 70s along with hex grips, barrel grips, vented duck bill visors, front fender mudflaps, metal flake helmets and goggles with button snaps holding the lens in. I miss those days. Sad

Remember 'Magura Unbreakable' levers, clutch and brake similar to that. They kind of were not such a nice feeling to ride with, especially the brake, as the plastic was quite soft and when you pulled the brake hard the plastic levers sort of flexed also. Metal alloy ones had a much nicer feeling seem to recall from when I tried the plastic ones. They also kind of bent when you crashed, rather than snapped, wouldn't really say they were unbreakable but probably were more durable than regularly snapping the metal ones back in the day. I used to snap quite a few metal ones, which my Dad was never too happy about!

Still the best bar pad ever made. 30 years later and nothing has come close.
