If their both out of the 450 national championship, best of the two races goes on
to race the MXON on a 250 for the states, runner up races for Team Puerto Rico.

Not to mention totally destroying the remainder of the series by pulling out major contenders for moto, and overall wins.

Sorry OP. This place can be brutal for newcomers. There’s a lot of focus on the overall standings for 450 class for these guys. They’ve been on 450’s for years and that is what they’re signed to do. Both Anderson and Barcia are paid to win this class. MXoN is just a one-off race. It’s not uncommon for other countries to have 450 riders step down to race MX2 for this class, for no other reason than to give their country the best shot at winning. The US doesn’t really do this, although it would probably benefit the team. This year, it’s being talked about more because we don’t have an American racer in the 250’s that seems up to par at the moment. However beneficial it would be though, it’s a pipe dream that probably won’t happen. Justin Cooper is most likely going to ride the MX2 bike.
