Has this happened to anyone else's SG12's?

They're only 3 rides old and the big plastic part that makes up the second strap/part of the back has split. Is this common? Can you get a replacement for it or is it possibly covered under warranty or something?

Any suggestions for breaking these in? I have 2 rides on them. First time I could only ride about 5 minutes with them and my ankle and calf were getting really tight. I came in and put in my well worn Alpinestars and rode the rest of the day with no issues. Between rides I wore them around the house for about a 1/2 hour and didn't have any issues. Went riding the other day and lasted about 10 minutes before I had to pull in and change boots again. They feel super comfortable when I first put them on and walk in them but motion to shift really seems hard in them.

Holy mackerel. I have 3 seasons on mine and about 80 hours on the bike. That has not happened

Agree w/ TG---looks like a foot-peg issue.
Foot swag is hard on boots! Smile

you might have some foot pronation causing that. The insole of The sg 12 is pretty flat. If you have your arches on the pegs you could be stressing your legs and ankles to hold form. Maybe try some insoles with a hard plastic heel cup and arch.

This is funny because I can wear a pair of 6 yr old SG-10's and a pair brand new right out of the box back-to-back and they pretty much feel identical to me. One of the things I like most about Gaerne's hinged boots is I consider them to require zero break in.
