I don't think Emig ever won a SX main again after his 97 championship.

He went win less in 1998. His best finish in 1998 was a 3rd a Vegas.

As much as I agree, I just think that Hansen is a poor example, even though true, but he had a detrimental injury, not like the others who didn't have an excuse.

Of all those guys, I believe only Emig actually raced the full time and healthy, or at least he started out that way....

Weinert hurt his knee in '77, Hannah had a broken leg from his water-skiing accident, Bell hurt his knee, Hansen had such a severe concussion he retired, and RC skipped the '04 SX tour after injuring his knee while practicing in November.

Fro obviously had some issues with his prep and his mindset that year, and it snowballed from there. But then he got his act back together later in the summer and won 4 outdoor nationals over five races, then broke his thumb.

wasn't intended as a knock, mxracer106 asked a question and got the answer. virtually all of them didn't win because they were hurt. Thanks for the detail, Davy

and RD5 has time. Stanton didn't win in 93 until the last race in Vegas

Actually.....DC read my mind, I just forgot to write it! I should have put the disclaimer that the past champion was healthy the COMPLETE next supercross season. It was more directed to the situation that Dungey is in assuming he gets through 2011 injury free.

Hairy- Great MX memory! Are should we call you Cliff Clavin? Wouldn't want to go head to head with you on MX Jeopardy!

So, is DC correct.....the only one was Emig?
