If I am you, I’d go for the 2 18’s all day long.

Have a stock and mod, or just keep one of them under a blanket for the next 3 years.

You’re in a good position either way!

Buy the two 18s, unless you need the Eli start

Those 49mm Showa SPRING forks are worth every penny.

Hell just buy one ‘18 and go nuts on how rad you can make it.
Not to be a Spode but at that price I may go green, is that a dealership in NC?

I was having this same conversation out this way. Saw some SoCal dealers in the same price range. 2 for 1 gets my vote. Do the spring conversion or like one said have a stock an mod. Good luck. cheers.

More often than not, dealers with super low stickers are douchebags that stack up ridiculous fees until it's $8k out the door. So we gotta ask...can you really get them for $11k otd?

Good point...

There was a 2018 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 listed for $8,999 by a notorious SoCal multi-line dealer...
So, I called...
There was some kind of $2,800 dealer fee that I’ve never heard of...per the guy on the phone.
By the time he got done stacking up the various fees & what not: it wasn’t a good deal...

Some dealers really are terrible.

Kawasaki are crazy discounting those bikes how do they expect a customer that’s loyal to their brand to pay retail at the release of each bike then a year later when they want to upgrade they can’t sell the bike for fair money because they discount the ass out of the bikes
Pretty short sighted in my opinion they should be throwing in gear and parts to protect resale and ultimately gives the consumer a bit more confidence to spend so much money on what a new bike costs

As for the question I’d buy that 18 all day long and just put some 08 KX450 spring forks in it they bolt straight in

That was a joke. The 19’s are roughly 1 week old. Hence the “haven’t had a single issue!” I thought it was funny being there has been no time to have an issue!?!?!

You probably ain't gonna find a 2018 ktm 450 sxf for $5500 New or used. I wouldn't dream of paying $10000 for a bike that is not gonna be worth $3500 in a year no matter how good i take care of it.. For that matter.......you probably ain't gonna find a 2017 either for that money....... unless its shot.

I love kawasaki's, but purely from a business standpoint, it would be foolish to buy a new model year, new one. I'll stick with my KTM's until I feel that someone has built a better bike.

Those air forks are a death sentence in my opinion.

I believe I paid about $5500 for my 1992 cr 250 when I bought it new.

It’s a 2018 in the pic for 5495.00, not a 2017.

Ridenow is a joke, they are ALWAYS overpriced, fees, stupid nonsense, I laugh every time I ask for a quote from them when looking for a new bike, I can guarantee you that is not the OTD price.

From a resale standpoint and just overall bike updates standpoint why would you not go with the 19. To each their own.
