How in the world does a track or promoter build a jump so large that the Pro 450 riders don't jump it? Do they not test this stuff? I refer to the triple step up jump that only Adam on the 250 tried in moto 1 and Tomac so far.
So many bitched and whined about that jump and the halfpipe.. the halfpipe is a cool and different thing and the jump is really a non issue.
Nothing like Supercross at Hangtown today! LMAO

Same with the step up before that hill near the old finish line, when it was a rough hill it was a great racing spot, that hip jump makes it follow the leader.
Not for the weak.
As for the jump, it was actually bigger before the race. A couple Dirt Diggers that I talked to said they actually trimmed it down.
Like others above said, it was doable for the guys who wanted to put in the effort to jump it, and safe for the guys who didn't.
On lap 3 when Peick finally hit it you could tell by his body language he was thinking "holy shit!!!!"

If the top pro riders can't make it then your building it to big. That was my point. Not to make it really small. At least the top 20 riders should be able to make it. So if it was 150 feet then maybe consider 140 or 145 in the future.
Now with that said, had a rider cased that jump and crashed everyone would be crying bloody murder.
Moving to Portland next weekend!
So, answer to the OP's Question: Hell, No!
First, tracks out there tend to build their tracks like the tracks they see on TV. Second what happens if the jumps keep getting bigger and bigger and a Pro rider dies at a race? Will Congress get involved and start shutting down tracks and OHV parks? Who knows right?
Motocross does not need 150 foot jumps. Just good tracks, good racing, and good people. Safety should be a thought!
