Stumbled on some photos in the basement. Got a pass to the infield and snapped a few photos (have some video too..that I'll upload one of these days). It was windy that day. Enjoy.

If tracks were like that today, this sport would be dead overnight. I wouldnt want to ride that track the way it was then.

Compared to places like Unadilla and stuff back then, no wonder guys used to say they hated it.

It always amazes me how long Wardy ran an open face helmet.

An old issue of MXA about 30 years ago had a list of the 5 all time best and worst tracks at the time. I remember 3 of the best were Unadilla, Saddleback and old Hangtown (Plymouth). Hangtown (Prarie City) was one of the 5 worst. They described it as looking like an old nuclear test sight.

Just turned the big 50! (February). Was a big fan back then...nothing's changed (except the size of my moto pants!)

What's all the green stuff in the background?

Cheers for the pics. I was only little but had many magazines with these guys in them through the early '90's.
I'll have to upload the '89 Supercross review I have on VHS (in FrenchLaughing ).

Yes, EZZA...”all that green stuff in the background”.

That race was March 27th. Right after the Daytona SX and before the Pontiac SX. I liked the overlapping SX/MX schedule bitd. ...now back to bed after my nightly pee! Laughing
