I would imagine in the future the lappers may pay a little more attention to the blue flag after this weekend episodes!!! Move over or get mowed down

Champions don't level lappers, if they did Barcia would be king.

First one was Wrong time wrong place . Don't blame sexton at all . Second one was different for me . The lapper had pulled out of his way . Sexton could have not hit him and lost a split second . I'd be a bit pissed if he did that to me .

I think both incidents were mistakes. Wrong place, wrong time and Sexton wasn't about to slow down.

Second lapper seemed to be coasting while looking over his shoulder. Not a great combo at the top of a blind jump. Don’t impede the front runners but ride in a predictable fashion.

Agreed. The second one basically stopped mid corner and looked back.

You can’t be serious? Battling for the overall while passing guys who’ve stopped racing after the first 10min and are cruising around the track while CLEARLY getting blue flagged several times and you expect 23 to “ Back off so he doesn’t ruin the lappers day “!!!??? Lappers are clearly another obstacle that the leaders have to deal with and 23 did it quite well. 😎

No, the second time the guy pulled all the way to the outside, then looked over and turned back over the rut he had gone outside of. That was dumb.

Yeah that's what I saw as well. He looked back and moved over, then drifted back into the racing line enough to get leveled.
My guess is he's probably more embarrassed than pissed at Sexton.

Rewatch the videos, Sexton was coming up on lappers for 5-6 corners and within that time I only saw one blue flag waving and that was after Sexton made the pass. Track workers need to do a better job. Hell one flagged wasn’t even close to his flags. Just stuck in the ground.

It looked like there was two blue flags on the whole track.

Sexton needs to learn that to pass someone, you actually have to use a different line.... lmao.... sexton was hauling... but it shows he wasn't in 100 percent control.... smeshing a lapper is a risky proposition...

I think in both cases Sexton did not need to clean out the lapper, especially the 2nd one. I thought the lappers for the most part (but not all) did a decent job getting out of the way. I think the leaders are coming up on them so fast they kind of freeze and that can lead to trouble.

I don't blame Sexton at all, if they don't get out of the way then get them out of the way. Think Roczen can learn a thing or two from him instead of complaining about the lappers in every podium interview.

Riding around in the main outside line of a turn like you are looking for a parking spot isn’t doing a good job of getting out of the way

Personally, I’d prefer it if he’d pass these slow movers from a much safer and “better” distance. Every one of these close calls is an opportunity for his race to be ended…badly. Very…badly.

I think Chase is so damn fast…faster than a lot of the competition…that he’s still figuring some of this stuff out at the races. It’s not like he has a bunch of back-markers at the test track.

At tbe end of that moto, he and Tomac were in full on alien mode.
Doubt even flaggers could keep up with how fast they were coming up on guys.

Lappers at that point are taking more time setting up for a corner, that the two of them were in them, gone, and halfway to the next one.

Riders getting lapped need to move out of the main line hold that line and continue on with their race pace. There is nothing worse than having a rider move over and slow down unexpectedly. Let the leaders race the in the main line and they will make the pass real quick.
