That is awesome..... My brother tried to do that about 15 years ago but ended up with a wheel either side of the gate ( like the bike was on its stand ) throttle pined wich was LOUD with the pro circuit factory 304 silencer on his 98 YZ 400f, I was 3 gates over laughing my head off.... When the gate fell he launched a massive holeshot and me.... I jammed my gate after creeping forward looking and laughing, result stood too, other guys wanted to fight him when he came in off the track after the moto. He lurks on here but does not post, that video has to make you laugh Robbo!!!!

Reaction time is a little questionable. But your ability to make a jump from air is uncanny and could prove useful quite often.

Jason Lawrence did this once and there's a video somewhere. Can't find it from my phone.

Lol, this was filmed at my hometrack here in the Netherlands. Someone did this a few years ago. I believe he made a bet about it with his mates. Don't know anymore what he won.

The Man jumped the gate at the Honda Hills Trans Am circa 73 and lapped his way to fourth so the one lap penalty was NBD. Pretty sure this is the same year that Marty Tripes crashed on his works Yamaha and ripped the front end off

Never saw anything like jumping a backwards falling gate, but I had a really embarrassing moment when my clutch cable snapped on the start line. Unfortunately the 30 sec board was still up. Hit the gate and nearly endoed, didn't know what the hell was going on, tried to pull the clutch in and had nothing, bike was WFO and hit the kill switch. Worst part is that I was gated next to John Dowd.
