I don't use glue or wires. These ODI grips are 20 buck, but they bolt on and because the ends protect the rubber, the grips last for a long time even after crashing, and they don't come off, even in mud, water or crashes.

Those are my favorites.....flawless product....

Does grip glue make that much of a difference? I also heard that spray paint works? Whats your opinion?
Renthal grip glue is the $hit! You put it on properly it will not come off, don't even need wire. Secret is cleaning the inside of the grip with denatured alcohol so there is no oil residue left.

suzuki grips are vulcanized to the throttle tube......i leave the stock grips or a bit and then switch to a pro circuit throttle tube ....clear laquer spray paint 10 mins and your good to go...i also safety wire my grips and have never had a grip come loose ......dipping the grip in gasoline and sliding on works too....but the grips stink like well gas ....

Clear spray paint and I haven't wired a grip in 10 years. The shit works. Just replace when they get torn.

if you change grips often, and/or use a soft compound grip, wire only.

I do the throttle side first, spray with contact cleaner, slide it on and spin it to the position I like. (i am a half waffle dual compound medium renthal fanatic). Double loop wire it in 3 places. Then do clutch side and double loop wire in three places.
Have yet to have one spin of come off, but when I am riding alot, I wear them fast, so go thru a set every month or 2.

If you dont change grips often, and/or use hard compound, glue them. wear from the inner sleeve build up "grit" over time if you dont have glue. You have all seen it on a way old set, that black gritty rubber.

Pro Taper grip glue works great. Dries in about 30 seconds.
