I'd definitely have one on a $10k+ bike though.
Also stolen bikes are rarely recovered, they are too easy to pass off so many people don’t care about a title or registration that ride on farm land or just tracks out of state.
On another note ALL bikes 2021 and older previously red sticker will now become green sticker on Jan 1st 2025 and can ride year round, until then then they remain standard red sticker rules.
Anyway, I finished the video and I see they're giving out an certificate of origin. That's fairly common in the street world for race bikes, but people sometimes turn t hem in for a title and registration. They must be doing the VIN thing again as a flag. I wonder how many people will suddenly have a fake second residence in South Dakota...

So according to the CARB link below, 22-24 models will not be legal except for closed course competition unless they are green sticker bikes. In 2025 all previous year bikes will be legal. Though there is a rumor that the DMV is ignoring the carb ruling. Kind of like 1998 all over again.

According to the written plans 2022-2025 bikes are no sticker now or in 2025 or ever, but like you say the DMV is pulling a 1998 so if that whole cycle repeats there could be an amnesty for them in the end.
I’ve had insurance on 2- dirt bikes for around $350 a year. It’s pretty cheap, but I have 4 different policies with Mercury Insurance. Home owners, automobile, street bikes, dirt bikes. Both motorcycle policies are through progressive insurance, which is under the same company as mercury.
