If we could have a race of the 40 greatest of all time in their prime on their absolute best possibly day (no mistakes or bike problems) all on equipment that would be even competition... who would you want to see lined up?

For me:

DeCoster, Barnett, Hannah, Distefano, Johnson, Ward, Bailey, Lechein, Glover, McGrath, Stanton, Keidrowski, Carmichael, Stewart, Villipoto, Dungey, Reed, Todesco, JMB, Somo, Sun, JLaw, Fonseca, Bradshaw, Pastrana, Magoo, Joel Robert, Matasevich, Bailey, Hallman, Geboers, Pichon, Vuillemin, Pourcel, O'Mara, Barcia, Henry, Dubach, Emig, Mikkola

That's my 40. Who would you change?

*sorry, slow day at work.

Impressive list. What about Stefan Everts and Toni Cairoli?

Not to sure about Doug Dubach though.

Really? Can't form your own opinion? Just want to laugh at others?

When he was at his absolute best, JLaw was/is as fast as anyone. Did you ever see Dubach in person? Guy was a beast. It's my pick, what's yours?

Everts.dungey.hughes.brownie.dymond anyone of those are a easy replacement for dubach and jlaw..dubach and jlaw. Super fast. But in the same sentence as the others mentioned. No way. Imo.

I like this list, but I would replace Somo with Marty Tripes, Dubach with Steve Lamson and Matiasevich with Stefan Everts. That said, in my opinion, everyone on that list would be hard pressed to beat Magoo at the '82 MXdN. That truly was a ride for the ages.

He really wasn't. It's just that he didnt pick up much fame until he was about 24, and when you are racing 17 year olds, it gives the impression of being "the old man". His receeding hairline didnt help either.

If Bradshaw is in there, Chicken has to be as well. Those two are like the Dynamic Duo of Destruction.

It was never out of the cards to have a KX250 hanging upside down in the rafters or a YZ250 4th gear pinned WITHOUT a rider when those guys were in top form.

On their very best possible day, Tortelli has to be on that list. Outdoors anyway.

Tedesco, Fonseca, and JLaw need to be taken off completely.

I would add Everts, Cairoli, and Albertyn as well.
