Glen Helen.
I wanted to disagree, but Glen Helen has had some of the most memorable and best racing memories to date. It's hard to label one track as the greatest outdoor track in history, since every national/event has sentimental meaning to different people in one way or another.

This is a hard one taking EVERYTHING into consideration,

Layout: Unadilla
Dirt: Argentina
Seating: Erne'
Difficulty: Lommel
Personal Ride day: Maggoria

(Attempted Spelling without google)
The Argentina gp dirt looks good but when you watch the guys ride it it seems to be unpredictable. I wouldn't know though...

Fwiw I always liked Mosier Valley.

I NEED to ride mammoth one day. It looks amazing. Just have to make it happen one day being 3000 miles away makes it a little difficult!

They always graded and watered the Hell out of it first thing. The one time they sent the 100 class out first my bike ended up seizing.

I like everything but your Thunder Valley. Having grown up at that place in the late 80’s and through the 90’s , other then location that track is shit.

Personal favorite is Unadilla. Happy to say I've mowed the grass with my foot pegs in first practice.

Thunder Valley or the old Lakewood track? I had good times on both but that old Lakewood track was gnarly.

That track has been similar over the years. Yes a few changes but on the whole same layout. Aren’t Lakewood and Thunder Valley the same thing? Grew up on that track. Lived 10 minutes from it. It’s a shit track.

In the late 70s early 80s we called it the Lakewood track. Maybe it was Thunder Valley then but I didn’t know it. I moved away and have been back to race the new track. It is light years ahead of the old one. That area has changed so much. Used to race all up and down the front range back then. My first 250 race was at Castle Rock. Nothing there now but ugly boxes with people in them.

Broome Tioga was awesome with the hills and layout, but man, those golf ball size rocks would get old fast,

Personally, budds creek back in the early 90's was much more impressive than what it seems to me to be now.

A lot more loamy dirt that has been lost over the years, and back then every where was 30 feet wide.
A lot more long table tops too.

I dunno.

Rode Budds a lot.
Namuar, who wouldn't want to try that one.
Unadilla, attended some great ones there.
Red Bud, Wasougal, sure look good on TV.

But, the place that epitomizes motocross, to me, from afar, is Glen Helen.

Long ago and far away...in Tallahassee before Carmichael and the Cairo MX Factories, there was a track called Mid-Lake Raceway. It was part of the original Florida Winter-AMA series and was commonly referred to as the "Unadilla of the South." Hanging Spanish Moss, Co-Ed spectators from Florida State University, and spectators floating in boats out on Lake Jackson.

This picture is from the 1971 Winter AMA race. Check out the crowd, the snow fencing, and the tree lined, NATURAL, motocross track.

BTW, #66 is a very young Jimmy Weinert on a CZ 380.

Such a shame how much the modern Unadilla has panned out. Slot car racing on an outdoor SX track is not what I like to see. Place has kind of lost its luster, but we still go every year.

Carlsbad, if you have not raced on it you would not understand.

I always loved racing at Echo Valley in Toowoomba it seemed bigger than the place actually was

Not to mention it's choccy cake when the conditions are just right
