Anyone in the know or know of someone who would know? I'm working on making some mods to a KTM Header.
Thanks

Most likely 304. Just use 308/309 filler and you'll be safe. It most assuredly won't be a grade above that. You can use 316 but it's unnecessarily expensive. I've welded on a couple KTM pipes (and FMF and PC) using 316 with no problems. Also Weldmold 880 works really well if you can get it.
Thanks - I take it the stock color of the KTM header pipe has nothing to do with the grade?

"Stock color" meaning a header with no heat put through it? They change color very soon after just a few heat cycles. Take a red scotch brite pad to it to get to the raw metal.
