2012 Yz125 with an oversized rotor, pc pipe and silencer and a vforce4. I took it out to the track yesterday and it'd have to be the most fun I've had in six months on a bike. No issues hauling my 190lbs around on sand either. If you're thinking about making the switch back to a smaller bike I say why not. If I'm over it in a few months I can grab another four banger. Smile
That's great my man! Been thinking about doing the exact same thing...downsizing.

However, that front rotor is not oversized. Tusk's "oversized" rotor is floating, not solid mounted, as the one shown in the picture. That appears to be a stock replacement.

How is a 125 more fun to you? I think a 450 is the most fun motocross bike you can ride.
I agree as well. I spent 6-7 years riding small bore 2 strokes, 125s and 150s. I now ride a 450 and love it, I have much more fun on it than any of the little two strokes I had.

I also don't understand the whole 'tip toeing' around on one either? They are powerful yes, but not at the level that is made out by some people.

It's just what makes you happy and enjoy going riding I guess, you and me like our 450s and others like 125s.

Sorry I kinda de-railed the thread.

OP, I'm happy you got a new bike. That's a wonderful feeling!

Congratulations pdub! Wise move; financially and for the fun factor Cool

Nothing beats some wide open screaming on a bike that feels as light as a mountain bike...Especially when you give friends on 450's fits! Skip to 2.45m for some 125 vs. 450 entertainment: https://youtu.be/hIW6W9scJOM

450s take a lot away from riding. On a 450 you can come to a dead stop In the corner, eat a twinkie, and still clear the double from the inside. Without any effort.

You spend more time tip toeing around on a 450 being gentle, barely on the throttle. You use realistically 3% of its potential as the average weekend rider.

On a 125, you can't clear the double from the inside without hitting everything perfectly. You have to nail your lines, roll thru the bumps perfectly, nail your shifts, keep it wide open and be on it

You get to spend much more time on the throttle, working the clutch, pushing the bike grabbing gears. You use more of the bikes potential, you have to ride better yourself also.

450s ruin it for me personally

Your first paragraph is the reason why I like 450s. I enjoy being able to mess up in a corner and still have more than enough power to clear an obstacle. The extra power has gotten me out of a lot of binds.
wtf...

did you used to race quads before?

Lol no. I just have more fun on a 450 than a 125.

Something, something sprocket bolts too.
