Summer is approaching and I need to get a couple sets of vented gear. Was looking at Moose Sahara, but wondering what else is out there? I don’t feel like spending $250 for a set, and I’m pushing 40 and have no business wearing skinny gear.

The Troy Lee GP Air is nicely vented. Some of the best vented pants I've tried!

Klim Mohave…

Seriously the best vented gear I’ve ever owned. Great ventilation, but also lasts-the “vented part” on most vented gear is made of super thin and fragile lace like mesh, that gets ruined by the smallest snag…Klim vented sections are very durable- It’s awesome! And not tight fitting.

And the same price as most other vented gear…

Klim or Moose. Klim is usually built pretty well.

I’ve been partial to the Fox airline stuff, definitely cheaper than their Flexair or 360 lineup, and super cozy in the summer.

Also check out Thor, far better pricing as well.

I just bought some fly kinetic gear $119 for pants $39 for jersey and vented really we’ll definitely not slim fit. Only thing is I’m a 32 in all pants except for these I had to go to 34. Other than that nice non flashy gear.

Fly Kinetic is good. I race in it all year round

I got some of the Fly Kinetic Mesh gear last year. The M size is an XL compared to Alpinestars so it's not slim and it has more holes than fabric so it's properly vented

If you want something a bit different just1 j essential is pretty cheap at 135 a set. I can’t quite speak to the ventilation because I haven’t wore it when it’s hot out yet, but it is super light and comfortable.

The air wear is sick but the jersey is definitely slim fit. I love mine.

The new 2022.5 FLY Racing Kinetic Mesh will be available in April (I hope). I may have to paddle out and get it but it’s on the way.

Love the fly kinetic do you have any insight if the pants run smaller than other brands? This is the first time I’ve had to order 34s and haven’t gained any weight, all my other pants in 32 fit well but the kinetic I just received fit smaller with all the latching systems fully out. Not a huge issue just had to exchange for the next size up.

I’m sure people will scoff at this but no one else has mentioned it so I’ll add my experience on the subject.

I have 5 sets of TLD, and 2 sets of FOX’s summer weight gear and both brands fit, look and wear very well!

However, I have one buddy that is strictly an off-road guy (after hurting himself trying moto) and I enjoy riding with him enough that I have a 250 set up for off road also, but I do NOT want to wear my TLD or FOX moto gear in the woods!

I stopped by our local Cycle Gear shop and grabbed a set of their in-house brand gear BILT, in the vented style and started wearing it for off-road riding!
I’ve been very impressed with the fit and quality of the gear, especially for how affordable it is!
It has proven to be robust enough that it doesn’t snag easily on things hanging into the trail, and has also proven to be quite stain resistant splashing through a mud-hole with standing water or a creek crossing etc!

Heck the stuff has proven to be very comfortable, wear and last very well and I went back later and grabbed another set!
The BILT brand is worth considering IF you’re not a gear snob afraid to be seen in BILT gear or your budget conscious and want a great bang for the buck value!

I haven’t regretted buying my BILT gear and don’t mind wearing it when I don’t wanna trash the FOX or TLD off roading and its worked perfectly for me! 😎✅👍

And contrary to some internet chatter i've seen, Barcia does not wear GP AIR, that is a custom super tight ULTRA gear fit. I work at TLD (manage the bike division) and Barcia spandex suits I think are making some consumers think that's all TLD makes-on the contrary, GP, GP AIR, SCOUT are all made for us common man types.

So yeah, GP AIR is affordable, vented, casual-ride fit type stuff. I think the new stuff is on it's way, possibly just put on the TLD site for preorder.

Really appreciate all the responses. Im definitely a fan of Fly gear. Everything I’ve had from them has been excellent and I love my new Formula CP helmet. Bilt from cycle gear is another option I will look at. My wife has a gear set from them that’s worked well.

My set from I think 2014 finally gave up last summer. Only vented gear I’ve had that lasted as long was Fox from the early 2000’s. I was buying Alias for a while and really liked the fit and price of that stuff. Was bummed to see them go away.

Hard to beat the Klim XC Lite gear. I own, or have owned just about all gear sets listed above and the Klim is the best I've found. Inexpensive and very well built. Good chit.

Had some older (6-8 year old) Klim Mohave and Dakar gear. Had good ventilation and was very durable.

Tried Fly Kinetic Mesh and it was even better than my Klim gear. Durability isn't as good. But it vented so much better it was worth the decreased durability.

Still swear by Klim stuff and would probably buy some in the future. But Closeout Fly gear was too good to pass up as the Klim stuff is pricey. But would really like to try their newer designs eventually.

I've tried all the vented gear from most other gear companies...and as an off-road rider...NOTHING holds up like the Klim stuff does...I'll ruin any other gear company vented gear in one ride (just snagging it on branches and ripping it). Moto would be a different story though as there are no trees, cactus, etc. etc. to ruin the gear. Though not as solid as the Klim stuff, I'm sure any other vented gear would hold up just fine for moto.

And I haven't found the klim gear to be any more expensive that the top of the line gear from other manufacturers...unless you are comparing it to clearance prices...and Klim is never on clearance because it seems like it's almost always sold out (it's that good?), so that's not an apples to apples comparison.

TLD GP AIR is great for old dudes. Decent price, looser fit, normally not so wild looking and lots of venting.
